Hi I have a Windows 2016 server that gives me an error 0x8000ffff when trying to install updates, either automatically through windows update or manually with the standalone packages. I've tried various steps like stopping services, renaming softwaredistribution and catroot2 etc that's worked on other machines but no luck with this. I tried to uninstall the last good update and it wouldn't let me do that either.
Output from sfc and dism below, CBS log attached. Any help appreciated!
C:\Windows\system32>sfc /scannow
Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.
Beginning verification phase of system scan.
Verification 100% complete.
Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some
of them. Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For
example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. Note that logging is currently not
supported in offline servicing scenarios.
