Microsoft is NOT spying on you with Windows 10!

With the way the press has been going at it, it is about time someone published this. If you are going to use Cortana to manage your calendar, tell you how to get to the nearest Starbucks, then Cortana needs access to your calendar, your voice pattern, and your location. Information on what data is collected and how to enable/disable it is available for Cortana, Location Settings, Microsoft Edge, and more at Windows 10 and privacy.

I can maybe see Cortana on a phone but not my PC. I don't use it. I have disabled all those data sharing features except location. I like to punch in Home Depot to look up an item and see if the store down the street has it in stock.

It should be noted that W10 has a custom install option where you can easily opt out of pretty much all those things from the start. My guess is, the people complaining haphazardly pick the default or "express" installation option when installing software. That is always good if you want to share your data or install all sorts of unneeded software, toolbars, auto-updaters, adware and spyware on your computer. :r1:
