Cumulative Update for Windows 10 KB3147458 released today (April 12)

Some issues have been addressed in today's Cumulative Update for Windows 10. Might help for those with audio/video/internet issues ... quite a few areas received patches.

Here's the brief description from Microsoft:

April 12, 2016 — KB3147458 (OS Build 10586.218)


This update includes quality improvements and security fixes. No new operating system features are being introduced in this update. Key changes include:


1) Improved reliability for Internet Explorer 11, .NET Framework, wireless LAN, Microsoft Edge, Windows Update, logon, Bluetooth, network connectivity, map apps, video playback, Cortana, USB, Windows Explorer, and Narrator.


2) Fixed issue with connectivity of USB devices until OS restart.


3) Improved discoverability of printers when a device resumes from sleep.


4) Fixed issues with lock screen.


5) Support for visual voicemail on dual SIM phones.


6) Fixed issue with audio playback using Groove music and other music apps on a phone.


7) Fixed issue with revised daylight savings time.


8) Fixed additional issues with shutdown delays, Narrator, Cortana, roaming data usage, buying apps in the Store, video playback, facial recognition, Bluetooth pairing, Microsoft Edge, logon, Internet Explorer 11, Live Tile updates, .NET Framework, and Microsoft Installer (MSI).


9) Improved security for CSRSS to address security feature bypass.


10) Fixed additional security issues with Security Account Manager Remote Protocol, HTTP.sys, secondary logon, Microsoft Graphics component, .NET Framework, CSRSS, Microsoft Edge, and Internet Explorer 11.

I added the bold emphasis to a few items that might affect several of our current threads concerning audio/video stuttering issues. I also added the numbering.

Lets hope this update also resolve the Start Menu and Action Centre not responding and most important issue to resolve is the Cortana search results not showing. I have one laptop which Cortana wont show search result i will report back if issue is resolved after i update this laptop.

Well looks like this update still has not resolved the Cortana not showing the search results mess.

Well, looks like Microsoft will keep us hoping and hoping and hoping for a bit longer ....

[Can I guess the the PowerShell method of reinstalling Cortana didn't work on the "unsearchable" laptop?... Maybe Microsoft will come up with a handy-dandy "Fix-It" if we wait long enough. .... those little Fix-Its actually work most of the time - if we survive long enough to them to show up ...

I tried all method you can think off and non works i even reinstall Cortana multiple times and other apps, i can repair install Windows 10 but for now i don't want to because i do want to know if by luck and research i may found solution to Cortana not showing search results.
