Hi,
I have been struggling with this for weeks and week and have exhausted all options, even with the help of Corel support.
Must have spent 40 hours on it :(

I have been trying to install Core VideoStudio X8 64bit but it keeps getting 1935 errors, this is generated when it tries to install MS Visual 2008 64bit.
Here is the error code:

In trying to resolve 1935/HRESULT: 0x80070003 errors when trying to install Corel VidioStudio X8 (install fails due to Product: Microsoft Visual C++ 20XX Redistributable - x64 9.0.30729.6161 -- Error 1935.An error occurred during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft.VC90.ATL,version="9.0.30729.6161)

I was directed by Corel support to make a new user account with admin privileges.

Under this new account ‘Generate a system health report’ works perfectly! when it fails with time out under my normal profile Why?

Really hope someone will find the time to help me with this, it's becoming desperate! Just as extra info.
One of the things I tried was uninstalling all MS Visual C++ items with the intention of downloading and re installing.
However, as soon as I came to install MS 2005 I get the same error.
Luckily I made a restore point so got back to where I am now.
Looking at the error logs they seem to suggest that C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VC\msdia90.dll is missing or msdia80.dll in the case of the 2005 install. Looking in that folder all I have is msdia100.dll?
But this stuff is now getting way above my abilities :(

Help

Morning, well Corel support washed their hands of me today, said as i could install the 32bit application that would do :( this does seem only to be an issues with installing MS Visual C++ components, everything else works fine. I don't understand why when I remove all MS Visuals, re start and try and install them one by one I get the 1935 error again, meaning if I did not have a system restore I would never be able to install any MS Visuals? does seem weird.

By the way I do have disc images going back to December last year, but am scared to use them incase I lose stuff in use now.
I have searched all over the web for an answer and have found none, is it the case that this can't be fixed? Have I said or done something wrong? Let me know so i can put it right

Good afternoon,

It seems that you aren't the only one to have this problem. I would like you to try running this tool, it should fix the problem with that error. Then try and install again. Let me know if you get any errors in your next post.

Cheers!

Hi and many thanks, sadly I have run that tool a good few times and the result is the same :(

Just a question for you, are you also getting help from here? If so I would stick to one support forum at a time. This way we don't make you try things over and over again. If this is you, then comeback to us if they don't find a solution for you.

Hi, I have posted there and a few other places, however responses to this issue are few and far between. I'd like to press on here if we can please?

Okay, so I am going to assume that everything in the thread hasn't worked. Can you also tell me everything else you have tried so we don't have to backtrack.

Hello Mike,

Please Note:: if the file is too big to upload to you next post please upload via Dropbox or One Drive

Okay, so I am going to assume that everything in the thread hasn't worked. Can you also tell me everything else you have tried so we don't have to backtrack.

Hi

So lets see.

Have run countless sfc scannow.
Have run this: http://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/970652/en-us
Tried this: Customer Care:The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect - Knowledgebase
But unable to progress as when it comes to reinstalling the error prevents it.
Have don't clean boot in new admin account. This managed to install 2008 but then failed with 1935 errors again.
Done this: https://social.technet.microsoft.co...sembly-microsoftvc90atl-or?forum=winservergen
Run this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821.
Ref this: How to repair the .NET Framework 2.0 and 3.0 on Windows Vista - Aaron Stebner's WebLog - Site Home - MSDN Blogs.
And all the steps above.

Thanks

Due to issues with Kaspersky I S I have now removed it fully and am running MS provided securities.

CBS log looks fine, can you please upload:

Windows Update Log

  1. Right click on the
    aa922834-ed43-40f1-8830-d5507badb56c_39.jpg
    button
  2. Click on Run Inside the Run box copy and paste the following command
    cmd /c copy %windir%\WindowsUpdate.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\WindowsUpdate.txt"
  3. Please go to your desktop and attach WindowsUpdate.txt to your next post

As a side question is there a tool to validate and check installations of MS VisualC++ like the NET.Framework one?
Might be a idea to see what is fully installed and not.
Thanks

I am sorry Mike, I am not having much luck working out what is going wrong.

SFC /SCANNOW should detect any corrupt VC files.

Can you please go into Add/remove programs -> What Visual Distributions are installed?
