I just did a scan of my computer, both chkdsk /f and sfc /SCANNOW.
I ran SCANNOW first but after the corrupt file message appeared, I ran chkdsk to try and fix the errors. Running chkdsk again in read only mode showed no problems, but running sfc /SCANNOW still shows the errors are not fixed.
Here's the error I got :
Beginning verification phase of system scan.
Verification 52% complete.
Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.
Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example
C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. Note that logging is currently not supported in offline servicing scenarios.

Hello Hugo459440, welcome to Sysnative!

Can you post your CBS folder please:

Export CBS folder

  1. Click the Start button
    StartButton_16x16.gif
    then click Computer.
  2. Double-click on the C: drive, under the Hard Disk Drives category, and then scroll down to, and double click on the Windows folder.
  3. Find and double click on the Logs folder.
  4. Right-click on the CBS folder, and select Copy.
  5. Go back to your Desktop, right-click on it, and select Paste. You should now see a copy of the CBS folder appear on your Desktop called CBS.

Hi Hugo,

I was afraid that might happen. Because SFC failed to complete a full run I had to make an assumption whether the folder existed or not, I guessed that it did but unfortunately it looks like I was wrong. Can you run another SFC scan now please:

SFC Scan

  1. Click on the Start
    Start%20Orb.jpg
button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
  2. When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
  3. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following commands into it, press enter after each

    sfc /scannow

Wait for this to finish before you continue

    copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log %userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt

  4. This will create a file, cbs.txt on your Desktop. Please attach this to your next post.

Hi Hugo,

One of the errors in this log is a fault of mine as there was a slight typo in the log but the other is caused by a bug in SFCFix. The developer of SFCFix, niemiro, is currently working on a fix for this and I will post new instructions as soon as possible!

Tom

LOL. Whatever you're telling me makes no sense cause the only words I would recognize are fail or error. Anyways thx for working on it Niemiro!! And thx to you to Tom for helping me out

Niemiro, not rushing you or anything but could I have an estimated time until you finish the script?

Hi Hugo,

Sorry for the delay. SFCFix was updated yesterday but I completely forgot to reply to you!

Hi Hugo,

Thanks for the log, it looks like everything went through without any problems this time! In theory you should be all sorted now but you never know with these things, Windows doesn't make it easy for us!

SFC Scan
