Hello and welcome to Sysnative forums :)

The CBS logs are from some time ago (over a month), the first thing I would like to do is to see some fresh SFC logs.

SFC /SCANNOW

  1. Click on the
    Win7Orb_zps4dae3b32.jpg
button. Inside the search box type in CMD
  2. Right click on CMD => Choose Run as Administrator
  3. Inside the Command Prompt windows copy and paste the following command SFC /SCANNOW
  4. Please wait for this to Finish before continuing with the rest of the steps.

Convert CBS.log to CBS.txt

  1. Click on the
    Win7Orb_zps4dae3b32.jpg
button => Inside the search box copy and paste the following command:
    Code:
    cmd /c copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt"
  2. Press Enter
  3. Once this has completed please go to your Desktop and you will find CBS.txt => Please upload CBS.txt to this thread

Please Note:: if the file is too big to upload to you next post please upload via Dropbox or One Drive

The corrupt file here is:

Code:

  2. Download SFCFix.zip, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFix.zip - do not rename it.

  5. Drag the file SFCFix.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
  6. SFCFix will now process the script.
  7. Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.

I appreciate the help so much, Go The Power! I am now able to schedule and run Chkdsk. Interesting follow-up: when I click on my User Account icon at the Welcome Screen, and schedule Chkdsk, it starts, flashes "the volume is clean", and continues with normal startup. If I click on the Administrator icon, and schedule Chkdsk, it runs through 5 stages and takes about an hour! Again, many thanks!:thumbsup2:

Your welcome :)

Can you please post the results of CHKDSK?
  • Download ListChkdskResult.exe (by SleepyDude) from Here
  • Double click on it to run it. It will take a few seconds to scan, then it will open a Notepad window with the log. Copy and paste the contents of this into your next post please!
