Thanks with the help on other Laptop, the pack worked.

No this is a different LapTop. I cleaned up the other issue from SURT on this LT already. Ran SURT again (see new report above) and checked it with sfc /snannow with the understandings from your other post.
Need to find these placement files (if the issue), where I can download the Packs or Manifest as I see them here in this report..

Time to manually fix these up then :)

  1. Click on the Start
    Start%20Orb.jpg
    button and in the search box, type regedit
  2. When you see regedit on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
  3. When regedit opens, using the left pane, navigate to the following registry key and select it by clicking on it once.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Component Based Servicing

  4. Once selected, click File > Export....
  5. Change the Save as type: to Registry Hive Files (*.*)
  6. Name this file CBS (with no file extension) and save it to your Desktop.

Hi.

I started with 64 errors, now down to three.
Two are internet explorer updates.

All great, SFCFix or the (Fixer) and SURT fixed 59. So sweet a tool.:grin1::thumbsup2:

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

  1. Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop.
  2. Go to your desktop and right click on the background -> Select New -> Text Document -> Name this file SFCFixScript.txt.
  3. Open up SFCFixScript.txt and copy all of the following text inside the code box below and paste it into SFCFixScript.txt.

Then please run SURT again.


Finally, create a new folder on your Desktop, copy both of the following folders into it:
C:\Windows\Logs\CBS
C:\SFCFix

zip up the new folder and upload. I'd really like to get a full copy of both of these folders even though it isn't completely essential because SFCFix should have been able to fix these errors automatically - instead we had to provide manual scripts. So I'd really like to grab the logfiles so I can fix it for next time :)

Sorry had to run out to a meeting. Need to setup a DropBox public etc.. 9MB and 7kb.

Please mark the solved as well. I imaged it. But was close here. As needed the workstation back online fully functional for monday. To many other issues to keep up with, shame...:s6:

I want to post an older Asus P5GDC-V project pc to see if I can fix it after owner screwed it so bad, plus want to see how far I can bring it to W7, dual boot solution on 4 gb mem. sad I know.
That will refresh me to older fixes. See new post please, in the XP section.:eek: if want.
