OS: Windows 8.1 Professional 64-bit fully updated (Update 3).

Cannot enable Hyper-V. On the first restart after the enable, it goes up to 100% then says that it cannot enable the feature and it's cancelling. On second restart, it says failure to configure the update and that it's reverting. Right now, I'm running DISM /RestoreHealth to see if I can find something in the log. My CBS.log is below.

All the interesting stuff is between 21:17 and 21:23. You can clearly see that I tried to enable Hyper-V but I cannot see what made it fail.

The DISM operation is complete, I'll restart my computer and then try to enable Hyper-V again to see if it worked. New CBS.log after the DISM.

I have no idea of what is causing this to be honest. My Kaspersky Internet Security 2015 could be involved but I have no proof of it right now. Also, if you see something that I missed, let me know and I'll look for it. It'll be a good experience to find by myself.

Even thought DISM said that the component corruption in the store was repaired, Hyper-V fails to enable. And I stand corrected, at 95% it throws me the error message, not 100%.

Access Denied is never good.
Code:
... a ãhou® Code d'erreurx80070005.

Can you tell me how many entries you have in the following key?

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Network{4d36e974-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}

I noticed that error code as well, I hoped that it wouldn't be the root of my issues. And there's 15 keys.

This may work then. Increase the count of the maximum allowed system filter drivers. You can do this by changing the value of the following. Found here.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Network\MaxNumFilters

A picture of the MaxNumFilters value is here. If it doesn't exist, create it. Set the data to 16 maybe since you already have 15. Then reboot and give it a go.

I've tried it already and it didn't work. I even set it to 0x14 like recommended on SuperUser.

Alright. Working on it right now.

It worked, thank you a lot Brian :) I was aware that Kaspersky could be the issue, but according to this thread it should have been fixed in the 2015 version (or one of the update).

Cannot add hyper-v feature in Windows 8.1 with KAV 2015 - Kaspersky Lab Forum

Hence why I didn't try it first hand. Now to see if reinstalling Kaspersky Internet Security will cause issues... I'll create a Restore Point first just in case.

Anyhow, if you want, this thread can be moved to the general Windows Update section since it could come handy in the future.
