Hi and welcome to Sysnative.

The two corruptions in your logs are a known issue and not to worry about. They don't affect the operation of your machine. Microsoft is aware and is working on a resolution.

Code:
CORRUPT: C:\WINDOWS\winsxs\amd64_microsoft-windows-u..ed-telemetry-client_31bf3856ad364e35_6.3.9600.17842_none_90da81a4dac50d54\utc.app.json
CORRUPT: C:\WINDOWS\winsxs\amd64_microsoft-windows-u..ed-telemetry-client_31bf3856ad364e35_6.3.9600.17842_none_90da81a4dac50d54\telemetry.ASM-WindowsDefault.json

Can you give me more specifics on your situation?
1. What specific issue are you having with Windows Update?
2. Do you intend on installing the free update to Windows 10?

Thanks.

Dear BrianDab thanks for supporting.
Yes i would like to upgrade to Windows 10 (actually i already did when everything was working fine and then stepped back to Windows 8.1).
Right now Windows update is not working and doesn't let me downolad Windows 10 or anything else.
I have 3 errors in event viewer:

1- Event 10010 for DCOM 4991D34B-80A1-4291-83B6-3328366B9097 not registering in requested time
2 -Event 16392 BITS service non started error 0x80070002
3 - Event 7024 Intellingent background transfer service has stopped with error can't find specified file

The machine is working but can't get any update nor upgrade to Windows 10.

thanks for helping

I upgraded to Windows 10 and i had Norton Internet security installed, once the new OS was up and running Norton stopped working and they suggested to remove it and install it again. So i downloaded the Norton Removal Tool, as suggested from Symantec , bu when rebooted the machine it started giving BSOD everytime, i tried almost everything but could get to a normal boot. So i used the return to previous build from the recovery screen and stepped back to Windows 8.1.
Since then i'm no longer able to download updates

Thanks for the information. Please do the following.

Step#1 - Run Windows Repairs
Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.
1. Download Windows Repair (All-in-One) Portable to your desktop.
2. Once the file is downloaded, right-click on the file on your desktop and choose Extract All...
Extract.JPG

3. Keep the defaults and click the Extract button.
4. A folder named tweaking.com_windows_repair_aio will be extracted to the desktop. Once the extraction is complete the folder will open.
5. Inside this folder, there is a folder named Tweaking.com - Windows Repair. Open this folder as well.

6. Double-click on Repair_Windows.exe to open. Note: Please make sure all of your programs are closed and anything you were working on is saved as we will be rebooting.
7. When the program opens, click the Reboot to Safe Mode button at the bottom of the screen. Answer Yes to allow.
8. Once rebooted into Safe Mode, open the program again. When the program opens, click the Repairs tab and click the Open Repairs button.
9. A backup of your registry will be made. After a few moments you will have many options from which you can choose.
10. Please click the Unselect All button and then click to enable only the following ones:

03 - Reset Service Permissions
04 - Register System Files
05 - Repair WMI
06 - Repair Windows Firewall
10 - Remove Policies Set By Infection
14 - Remove Temp Files
15 - Repair Proxy Settings
17 - Repair Windows Updates

11. Ensure the Restart check box is selected and click the Start Repairs button in the lower right of the screen. This may take some time to run so be patient.

12. Once the fixes are complete you will be prompted to restart your machine. Answer Yes.

Ok done that.
After the final reboot as soon as i logged in the desktop was shown and BSOD with THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER came up 3 times, then i decided to power off this machine (removing power cord) and after this i was able to log in.
In event viewer error messages are disapperared but going into Windows update tells me that there are no updates to install. I still have the Windows 10 notification in the tray bar saying that the upgrad is downloading but it's not found.
Also it's reported that last time looking for updates is never , even if it has completed on check.
Is there a way to cancel the Windows 10 upgrade booking and ask for it again?

OK now it has started ownloading Windows 10 upgrade, i'll keep you posted about the result.
What do you suggest for that BSOD error?

Just so you know you don't have to wait until the Windows 10 upgrade downloads (unless you mean you started the install). You can simply use the Media Creation Tool to do the upgrade without waiting.

Also, for the BSOD issue, if it doesn't happen again I wouldn't worry about it. If it happens again I would post an inquiry in our BSOD forum. The experts there are far more knowledgeable about the crashes than I am.

I'll be looking forward to the results. Thanks.

I mean it has started downlading from Windows update Windows. Even if i use media creation tool i guess it has to downloads all the files.......
Anyway it's around 20% so i shouldn't wait for so long.
I'll write you later .

Hi Brian,
upgrade to Windows 10 went well and so far i haven't experienced the BSOD again.
I noticed 2 new errors in event viewer about DCOM anyway:

1 - event id 10010 server AB8902B4-09CA-4BB6-B78D-A8F59079A8D5 didn't register with DCOM in time
2 - The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID

{D63B10C5-BB46-4990-A94F-E40B9D520160}

and APPID

{9CA88EE3-ACB7-47C8-AFC4-AB702511C276}

to the user COMPUTERNAME\SID USERNAME (S-1-5-21-532766038-1591833451-935209331-1001) from address LocalHost (Using LRPC) running in the application container Unavailable SID (Unavailable). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.

What do you suggest to do?

Regarding the second issue, i discovered that is about RuntimeBroker, but if i go in component service to add my username in the permission everything is greyed out and doesn't let me change any setting.
I suppose that just adding my user to security tab in exec and launch might fix this issue....

Excellent news about updating to Windows 10. Now we need to check your logs to ensure they are clear before continuing further. Please do the following first.

SFC Scan
1. Right-click on the Start
w8start.png
button and select Command Prompt (Admin)
2. When command prompt opens, Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Right-click > Paste) the following command into it, then press Enter
sfc /scannow

3. Once it finishes, copy and paste the following into the command-prompt window and press Enter.
copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt"

4. Once this has completed please go to your Desktop and you will find CBS.txt => Right-click on this file and choose Send To...Compressed (zipped folder). Please upload this zipped file CBS.zip to this thread

Please Note:: if the file is too big to upload to your next post please upload via a service such as Dropbox or One Drive or SendSpace and just provide the link.

Good. Three corrupted files were repaired automatically. Now let's do the following.

Step#1 - DISM /RestoreHealth Scan
Warning:this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

  1. Right-click on the Start
    w8start.png
button and select Command Prompt (Admin)
  2. When command prompt opens, Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Right-click > Paste) the following command into it, then press Enter
    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
  3. Once it finishes, copy and paste the following into the command-prompt window and press Enter. If prompted to overwrite the existing file go ahead.
    copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt"
  4. Once this has completed please go to your Desktop and you will find CBS.txt => Please zip/upload to this thread.
Please Note:: if the file is too big (over 7MB) to upload to your next post, please upload via a service such as Dropbox or One Drive or SendSpace and just provide the link.

Actually after running SFC and DISM this message is no longer present in event viewer. If this will come up in the future i will follow instrunctions from the link, actually i already had found myself that post.
Event 10010 is still persistent and it seemd to be referred to as for the CLSID:

Thumbnail Cache Class Factory for Out of Proc Server
C:\Windows\System32\thumbcache.dll

I also have a warning event 263 about win32k, i've searched the web but it seems no one knows about this one.

If it's not impacting the operation of your machine you may want to ignore. If you would like to pursue further, our experts in the Windows 10 forum would be your best bet. They have much more knowledge about these types of things than many of us in the Windows Update forum.

I'm happy we were able to resolve your corruption however.
