Greetings, we're attempting to fix a corruption found on 2 files without much success and we stumbled onto this community, we would like to know if you are able to provide assistance with these 2 file.

Sfc /scannow returned corruption that can't be fixed.

Sfcfix returned 2 file that couldn't be fixed

We've tried using dism.exe repair image without success.
any help would be greatly appreciated as we are unable to install certain updates without crashing the system which we are able to restore pre-update with dism.exe thankfully.

We have been able to narrow it down to 2 critical update, everything else has been successful following previous fixes.
kb3060716
kb3071756

Both of these are causing the system upon restart to boot into recovery mode where system repair doesn't work, we then need to use dism.exe to revert the update.

Thank you.

Hello Brian.

I downloaded the KB3060716, it required a restart, upon restarting, it again caused a system failure which i reverted again by doing a "dism.exe /image:C:\ /cleanup-image /revertpendingactions" through the recovery command prompt.

Here is the windowsupdate log and another CBS full zip.

Looking forward to your follow up, thank you for your time and assistance.

Can you give me some details about this server and the environment it is in?

Is this server a Domain Controller? What other roles does this server have installed on it? (i.e. File Server, DNS, WSUS).

Are there other servers in this environment that are also 2012 R2? Did those install the update fine?

This will help me with next steps. Thank you.
