[Win10 Upd1511 TH2] GUIDE: opencl.dll corruption in SFC/DISM

Re: GUIDE: opencl.dll corruption in SFC/DISM, Windows 10 Update 1511 (TH2)

Damn it worked perfectly for my case. My windows explorer has been spiking CPU usage randomly up to 70% on a core i5 4670. Unless I restart the computer, it will continue to use up the cpu resources, even if I restart the process. I used sfc/scannow and found that opencl.dll was corrupted, fixed it asap using this method. Hope the explorer.exe never goes crazy again :)

Re: GUIDE: opencl.dll corruption in SFC/DISM, Windows 10 Update 1511 (TH2)

This guide will help you determine if your opencl.dll file is indeed corrupt, and if so, how to replace it.

Thanks so much to you guys for going to the trouble to create a fix for my corrupted sys file problems!

I can report that the SFCFix has done in minutes what 48 hours of win 10 clean install, googling and MS command line tools failed to achieve.
Following the SFCFix routine, I have again run sfc /scannow and it now reports no integrity violations. Hope others find this post quickly before wasting time elsewhere...

This did not work for me. I reposted with new CBS, DISM and Emisoft scan logs. Did you get those?
I apologize, I was back in hospital for pneumonia...for a month total...hope I can shake it and get better.
Take care.

Sorry for the delay Tango.

Did you post a new thread to report your issue?

Re: GUIDE: opencl.dll corruption in SFC/DISM, Windows 10 Update 1511 (TH2)

- I have one problem with this guide. It doesn't explain the steps I should take in Win 10. And this problem surfaces in Win 10 ONLY !!!!

Re: GUIDE: opencl.dll corruption in SFC/DISM, Windows 10 Update 1511 (TH2)

Hi Willy :)

This issue is only present on Windows 10, and the instructions are for Windows 10. If you read the thread title, you'll also see that "Windows 10" is in it. Which steps are you having issues with?

Re: GUIDE: opencl.dll corruption in SFC/DISM, Windows 10 Update 1511 (TH2)

Hi BeeTrap,

Glad to see that the fix worked for you, thank you for sharing it with us! :)

This was a HUGE help. Even though my computer was showing no issues, it was really bothering me that I was getting the file corruption errors on sfc. The very fact that you would take the time outline the fix for this is appreciated by me, and I'm sure by many more that aren't members here or don't write about it.

In a perfect world, NVidia and/or Microsoft would put a patch out for this. I'm sure they don't read bleepingcomputer or other forums where these issues arise.

Again, many, many thanks.

It works fine for me! Thank you very much...
Don't know yet if it will resolve my problem of battery drain when in sleep mode. If no, always looking for a solution (about 50% every 12 hours).

Re: GUIDE: opencl.dll corruption in SFC/DISM, Windows 10 Update 1511 (TH2)

Hi noel :)

I don't think a simple corrupt opencl.dll is related to your battery draining issue sadly, but I'm glad to see that the fix worked for you! If you need assistance with your battery issue, feel free to create a new thread in the Windows 10 section to seek assistance.

You're right... The battery drain is still there...
So I opened a new thread as you have suggested it to me.
Thank you very much for this first problem resolution!
