Hi there Navier,

Let's start with the System Update Readiness Tool (SURT).

System Update Readiness Tool (SURT)

Download and run the System Update Readiness Tool for your version of Windows here: System Update Readiness Tool

NOTE: If you aren't sure if your Windows installation is 32-bit or 64-bit, check here: How to determine whether a computer is running a 32-bit version or 64-bit version of the Windows operating system

This tool will take some time to complete - when it has finished, attach C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log with your reply.

SFCFix Script

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

 1. Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop.
 2. Download the file below, SFCFix.zip, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFix.zip - do not rename it.
 3. Save any open documents and close all open windows.
 4. On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFix.zip.
 5. Drag the file SFCFix.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
 6. SFCFix will now process the script.
 7. Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
 8. Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this file into your next post for me to analyse please - put

tags around the log to break up the text.

It's says: ERROR: Zip file is corrupt or unreadable. This may be due to a bad download. Please re-download the zip (i did it a lot of times and still persists), try again, an see if the problem persists. If it doesm let your helper know as it may be that the upload is corrupt, and that is something that only your helper can fix.

The SFCFif.txt says:

I think I solved the problem by copying and pasting files from the .Zip file to the respective directories.

I ran the SFCFIX.exe again and it did not get any problems or corruption.

In the same way I ran the SFC / scannow. It found corrupt files and repaired them.

The thing is, I did all this to be able to upgrade to Windows 7 SP1 but I still can not update it.
I use a pirated version of windows 7, is that why I can not upgrade to SP1? If so, does it mean that I have to resign myself or are there any way to update without being "genuine"?

Anyway, I'll leave you the CBS file just in case.

Unfortunately I can't assist if Windows isn't genuine - there are all kinds of potential problems introduced with activation hacks that may interfere with SP1 installation.
