SFC Scannow finds corruption for Cortana but cant be fixed.

So, I tried running sfc scannow and it always stopped at 28% for some reason. I have done a CHKDSK C: \R and the logs does not show that I have any errors or bad sectors. I'll attach both of the logs below for both the chkdsk and the sfc scan log.

    button and select Command Prompt (Admin)
  2. When command prompt opens, Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Right-click > Paste) the following command into it, then press Enter

    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

  3. When DISM finishes scanning your component store, zip up and attach your CBS log to your next post:

    C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log

If the zip file is larger than 8MB, please use a file sharing service such as OneDrive, DropBox, SendSpace, etc. and include the link with your reply.

If the zip file is larger than 8MB, please use a file sharing service such as OneDrive, DropBox, SendSpace, etc. and include the link with your reply.

Follow the instructions below to test your hard drive health with GSmartControl:

  • Download GSmartControl and save it on your Desktop;
  • Extract the content of the GSmartControl .zip archive and execute gsmartcontrol.exe; To extract you can right-click your mouse on the GSmartControl.zip file and select Extract.

One question, will this particular problem be fixed if I reformat and reinstall windows? Cause my laptop has hangs once in a while when playing games and its quite annoying. Sorry if I will have wasted your time trying to help diagnose my problem here.

If you would like to reformat and perform a clean installation I think that would definitely fix the 'file or directory is corrupt or unreadable' error.
