Hi All

Very new here and a set of matching keywords in Google led me to the discover Sysnet.

My Win 7 has suddenly started showing a problem: The C: Drive (where Win is installed) won't load at all.
After the PC boots, I am able to access it for the first time, but after that one time, so much as pressing the back button also leads to a complete freeze (aka the green ribbon of death) .

I have done numerous chkdsk scans & sfc/scannow's, but in vain. The SFCFix helped me narrow it down to 2 dll issues and it matches the exact criteria of this thread: https://www.sysnative.com/forums/wi...but-unable-fix-some-of-them-2.html#post172817

However, in this thread as well, the 2nd issues was never solved, hence I am stuck in the same place. I was able to resolve the first dll issue with the Zip provided there.

If anyone can please assist, it would be a huge help. My CBS log is attached.

Thanks for getting back zcomputerwiz.

The result of the Zip file shows as successful in the logs, but the problem is still persistent. The folder, or this one particular folder in my C drive - just wont open. Clicking back or on any other folders after that becomes useless as they all become inaccessible. I can courtesy visit my computer after the windows boots but its pretty much no go to the C drive after that.

The E & F drives are still accessible but the icons is all 3 drives are white squares. Could this be a driver issue? I am out of guesses.

Attaching the logs as advised.

Additionally:
I have a Nikon D5100 from which I keep transferring a ton of photos - it has an SD card and the transfer i done through USB cable.
In my last bulk transfer (around 3000 pics) lead to the folders-not-loading problem.
Today I took some photos again & plugged it to transfer, even the SD card doesn't load anymore.

Just wanted to let you know in case it helps identify any problem source. Maybe need to uninstall some driver or something? The camera identifies on in Win 7 on its own tho.

Let's run chkdsk just to make sure there aren't any problems with the filesystem.

chkdsk /f

Looks ok.

Please configure Windows for a clean boot, then check if the symptoms persist.

Perfect!

I disabled it on both tabs - start up & services - as instructed. Scrolling through the C drive & heavily loaded folders smoothly now.

So, how do I go about turning on the few essentials that I need in these tabs? How do I narrow down the problematic service?
Do I turn each one up, restart & check? This will need multiple restarts.

Looking forward to next course of action. Thanks man!

Excellent. Yes, start turning them back on in batches - about half at a time, if the problem returns you can narrow it down to that half of the list.

Hello again zcomputerwiz. Thank you for finally resolving the issue.

I had once fixed this somehow, before, but your solution directed me exactly in how to do it. The system had relapsed to this behaviour earlier, is when I finally found Sysnative and sought help.

So I wanted to monitor it for a week before I got to the final verdict. The issue is the system goes back to the old inaccessible folder behaviour on restarts - as in, I may disable all in msconfig & restart, it works fine for that boot. But once I shut it down & reopen it the next time, its back to its old behaviour requiring a mscofig disable routine & restart.

I have nothing in the startup section other than 'Sticky Notes' - yet I have to do a full disable all routine & restart to make folders accessible. What is this glitch?

Does this occur only on shut down and startup or also with a restart?

I've noticed this on Shutdown and whenever I start it next.

Restarts are usually happening because I do the msconfig > disable all routine so, it's fine for that session.
