Running Windows 7, I tried downloading kb3163245 and it says, "The update is not applicable to your computer." Also tried kb3177186 and it says, "Security Update for Windows is already installed on this computer."

Hi joimaiveer

To clarify, is your computer asking you to restart even after you restart? If so, let's have the export of WindowsUpdate key:

Exporting WindowsUpdate Key:
1. Press :startorb: and type Command Prompt
2. Right-click on Command Prompt that comes up, and click Run as Administrator. (If UAC prompt comes, click Allow)
3. When command prompt opens, Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Right-click > Paste) the following command into it, then press Enter:
Code:
reg query HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate /s >1.txt && notepad 1.txt
4. Notepad will open showing the WU info. Copy and paste it into your next reply.

Re: How to solve Windows Update restart your computer to install important updates lo

This was expected since SFCFix can't restore permissions on a deleted key.

Now, after you restart, does it still ask you to restart to finish installing updates?

Nope. I've install KB2952664 and kb890830 successfully. I think its all set :)
