Can't seem to update windows past version/build in subject. The latest error is also shown but, I have seen 0x80070003 as well. SFCfix output is shown below.

Hello and Welcome!

Please try the following:

Click the Start button, then choose the Settings gear.
Click Update and Security, then in the Update Settings section choose Advanced Options.
Uncheck the box next to 'get updates for other Microsoft products when you updates windows', then click the back arrow.
Click the button to Check for Updates.

You may also wish to temporarily turn off Realtime protection in Windows Defender or other antivirus / antimalware products while Windows is checking for updates.

Download and install any available updates. This may require one or more restarts after the updates have installed.

Tried your fix. Same error code 0x800705b4.

Please try configuring the system for clean boot with these instructions:

Clean Boot

  1. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Search. Or, if you are using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, and then click Search.
  2. Type msconfig in the search box, and then tap or click msconfig.

  3. On the Services tab of the System Configuration dialog box, tap or click to select the Hide all Microsoft services check box, and then tap or click Disable all.

  4. On the Startup tab of the System Configuration dialog box, tap or click Open Task Manager

  5. On the Startup tab in Task Manager, for each startup item, select the item and then click Disable.

  6. On the Startup tab of the System Configuration dialog box, tap or click OK, and then restart the computer.

Once complete and the computer has been restarted, try checking for Windows Updates again.

Performed the latest action plan several times and received the same error (0x800705b4) several times along with the following msg a couple times: "Your device is up to date. Last checked: 4/25/2107, 8:17AM"

My system still shows Win10 Home version 1607, build 14393.576. All startup apps are now disabled until a fix for Win10 updates is resolved. This issue is an interesting one!
 
Very unusual!

Let's try resetting the Windows Update components.

Run Windows Repairs
  1. Download Windows Repair (All-in-One) Portable to your desktop.
  2. Once the file is downloaded, right-click on the file on your desktop and choose Extract All...

  3. Keep the defaults and click the Extract button.
  4. A folder named tweaking.com_windows_repair_aio will be extracted to the desktop. Once the extraction is complete the folder will open.
  5. Inside this folder, there is a folder named Tweaking.com - Windows Repair. Open this folder as well.

  6. Double-click on Repair_Windows.exe to open. Note: Please make sure all of your programs are closed and anything you were working on is saved as we will be rebooting.
  7. When the program opens, click the Reboot to Safe Mode button at the bottom of the screen. Answer Yes to allow.
  8. Once rebooted into Safe Mode, open the program again. When the program opens, click the Repairs tab and click the Open Repairs button.
  9. A backup of your registry will be made. After a few moments you will have many options from which you can choose.
  10. Please click the Unselect All button and then click to enable only the following one:

  11. Ensure the Restart check box is selected and click the Start Repairs button in the lower right of the screen. This may take some time to run so be patient.

Performed latest action plan several times. Results are the same as my reply on 5-13-17. I even performed all the optional items before repair where packages were missing or corrupted on 78 items under KB3206632,KB3176936,KB3213986 and KB3211320.
 
Let's try running the update to the latest build manually. You will need an empty USB flash drive of at least 8GB.

Follow the instructions here to download and create installation media: Download Windows 10

Let me know when that process has completed.
 
Downloaded the windows 10 iso installation file and burned it to a DVD. It booted up but, wouldn't let me do the install and said to run setup directly from the DVD after a reboot. Laptop rebooted and I ran the setup.exe directly from the DVD. It checked for updates, prepared for install and started then failed at 25% of the installation process. What's next?

    button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
  2. When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
  3. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following commands into it, press enter after each

    DISM /Online /Get-Drivers > %userprofile%\Desktop\Drivers.txt

  4. This will create a text file called Drivers.txt on your Desktop. Please attach this file with your next post.
