[SOLVED] [Win7SP1 x86] SFC scannow, SFCFIX and windows update errors

Hi there
i am Gianfranco from Milan Italy.

I hope that someone could help me to solve WindowsUpdate_80073712" "WindowsUpdate_dt000.
When i run windows update i receive this error message and i am unable to run sfc scannow that
says that is impossible to perform the request operation.
I have tried several Fixes and also the SFC.FIX.IT program wich tried to repair the missing or corrupted components but
something have failed with AutoAnalysis::WARNING: Failed to check store directories with return code 1 and error code ERROR_FILE_NOT_FOUND. COMPONENTS hive may be corrupt.




WARNING: Components hive failed size test and may be corrupt.

if you want i can share my component file into a compressed zip folder and send it trhough onedrive.

Hi Brian,please to met you.
I still have not found any solution to the windows update error since Microsoft assistance told me to reset the whole system and reinstall windows.
I tried to reset windows update
with the several microsoft fixes but it was the same error at the end of all.
If there are any other issues to solve my problem i would appreciate.
I had also tried SFC.FIX but the file is still corrupt or missing.
in my attachements you can find the details.

Due to the precise nature of your corruption, you will receive help from a user named softwaremaniac. He's one of our senior trainees here who's in his final phrase of his studies and needs to gain some real world experience in specific areas of Windows Update. This means that he'll be assisting you, but that I will first need to double check and approve his fixes before he posts them to you. there will be any problem for this change.
I really hope he could do something for my computer work again.

Hi and welcome to Sysnative! Let me see what I can do to help you:


Upload Components Hive


  1. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\config
  2. Right-click on the current COMPONENTS file and select copy
    Note: If you get an error that the file is in use, reboot your computer and then try again.
  3. Right-click on your Desktop and select paste
  4. Right-click on the COMPONENTS file on your Desktop and select Send To -> Compressed (zipped) Folder
  5. Upload the zip from your Desktop to a file sharing service such as DropBox, OneDrive, SendSpace, etc. and include the link with your reply.

i thoght it was a work already done one couple of weeks ago when i firstly sign up to the sysnative forum.i had sent all the points that you have just asked to me right now but if you want and if is necessary i will upload them again.

  4. On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFix.txt.
  5. Drag the file SFCFix.txt onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
  6. SFCFix will now process the script.
  7. Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
  8. Attach the file into your next post for me to analyze.

Hello and good afternoon.
My Windows update and sfc scannow were broken since i unfortunatelly used the Baidu pc faster that infected my notebook and blocked the system fyle checker as well.
I think that is the reason why i had this issues since a couple of months ago or maybe less.

I would like you to get your PC checked for malware and cleaned if necessary by the experts in our Security Arena. Please post an inquiry there. After they are done, please come back here for us to fix the SFC and Windows Update issues.
