Hi
Thank you so much.
I also got Win 7 x64 update KB4480970 failing with 80073701

I found this thread below. But the solution is only specific to the user. So...
https://www.sysnative.com/forums/wi...dows-7-update-kb4480970-fails-80073701-a.html

I ran these 5.

1. sfc /scannow

Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.
Beginning verification phase of system scan.
Verification 100% complete.
Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.
Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log.

2. Windows Update Troubleshooter
ran. didn't do anything.

3. System Update Readiness Tool
install failure

4. SFCFix.exe
(log attached)

5. Farbar Recovery Scan Tool
(no effect)

Hi Thank you so much for your help. This time SFCFix crashed. Perhaps I should run more diagnostics?

SFCFix Has Crashed

Something has gone horribly wrong and SFCFix has crashed. Would you like SFCFix
to submit a crash report to the developer so that this problem can be fixed?
Type "y" for yes or "n" for no and press enter to continue:

Step 1:
Please zip everything in the folder C:\SFCFix and attached the zipped file to your next reply.

Step 2:
1. Download the Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop:
64-bit: Downloading Farbar Recovery Scan Tool

2. Right-click to run the tool as administrator. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
3. Note: Ensure that the Addition.txt check box is checked at the bottom of the form within the Optional Scan area.
4. Press the Scan button.
5. Please wait for the tool to finish. It will produce two logfiles called FRST.txt and Addition.txt in the same directory the tool is run from (which should be the desktop)
6. Post the logfiles FRST.txt and Addition.txt as attachment in your next reply.

Hi

logfiles from FRST are attached.

My SFCFix folder is 50MB zipped and I can't upload because it's greater than 7MB.

Should I create split zip archives? I can also do 7z split archives.

Thank you very much

My SFCFix folder is 50MB zipped and I can't upload because it's greater than 7MB.
If a file is too big to attach to your next post please upload via a service such as Filedropper or One Drive or SendSpace and just provide the download link.

Step 1:
Uninstall following programs. These are legit programs but a driver file is located in the Temp folder which isn't correct. You can install the programs again if you need them when we have finished this thread.
  • Core Temp 1.11
  • CPUID CPU-Z 1.82.1

Step 2:
Warning: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Do not run this script on another machine.

1. Download the attachment fixlist.txt and save it to your desktop.
2. Right-click on FRST64.exe and select "Run as administrator".
3. Press the Fix button.
4. The tool will now process fixlist.txt.
5. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
6. When finished, a log called Fixlog.txt will appear in the same directory the tool is run from.
7. Post the logfile Fixlog.txt as attachment in your next reply.
