Hi,
I have been trying to upgrade a friends laptop but install fails with an 8000017 error. I have tried running sfc followed by SUR but no joy so far. Would appreciate any assistance you may be able to provide.
Attached is zipped log folder.

Hi Tom,
I very much appreciate all your hard work and late night effort.
Having dowloaded the files and dropped the zipped script on the application I'm getting the following error message
"The procedure entry point SetThreadErrorMode could not be located in the Dynamic Link Library KERNAL32..dll"
clicking OK results in
"SCCFix by niemero has stopped working"
I'm from Linux background myself but beginning the believe the HDD is maybe too damaged to enable effective resolution to this issue, any thoughts?
BR

Hi Dave,

Hmm, not entirely sure what's happened there - it looks more like an issue with SFCFix. I have posted a note to the SFCFix developer (niemiro) and will get back to you when I hear from him! This might take a day or two as he is away at the moment, so please be patient :)

Tom
