Windows 8.1 Lenovo Ideapad Y500 - can't update - error 800703F1

Did a chkdsk /r and computer booted up normally after. Not sure what the problem is. Can't update my Windows!
 
I haven't been able to run sfc /scannow (Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation). I just tried doing an advanced startup with command prompt to possibly get around this, but got hit with this blue screen:

Not sure exactly what this means. I dropped the laptop off our coffee table (maybe 18 inches) a few weeks ago, maybe that could have done it?

If this is a hardware issue, it is still under warranty.

If it is software only, I'm fine with reinstalling the OS. In fact, it would be a good excuse to put Windows 7 on here like I had originally planned (it came shipped with 8 but I have a lot of music programs that are better in 7).

I would need to request a Win8 CD from Lenovo I think. Or can I just use my Win7 Home Premium disc from my desktop to install that? What options do I have here?


 
I used the hidden recovery partition from Lenovo to reset it to factory settings. Windows update seems to be working now (got 8.1 and the latest updates).

Here is my new CBS file. Let me know if there are any problems!
