Hi, there. I've searched the forum and found this post had the same problem as mine, aka normal Windows update but after reboot, the process reaches 99% and then it reverts all the updates.

The ComponentsScanner said it will not run on Insider builds and will now exit

FYI, I've checked my Windows services according to this webpage and found that the App readiness service is not running. But when I set it to manual and turn it on, it will stop after 2–3 minutes.

Also, this link in Microsoft community seems to have exactly the same problem with me.

BTW, I've already done an in place upgrade using mediacreation tool, which didn't help either.

One more thing here. After the in place upgrade, it seems that my keyboard and mouse are having some small problems.
The lights on the keyboard, aka those that indicate whether the Caps Lock or Num Lock is on, are not working.
Also, the razer synapse can't recognize my mouse.
But it's weird that they are both functioning smoothly without any hardware problem.
I'm looking forward to a quicker response!

Hi

Since you have performed an in place upgrade, it seems to be an driver (3th party software) issue. The functionality of these indicators are a part of the manufacturers drivers / utility's. Have you already tried to re-install the drivers and/or Razor Synapse software?

I've already reinstalled the keyboard driver, but it didn't help.
I will try to reinstall the synapse later

What type of keyboard is it, and which driver have you used? I hope no crappy driver updater...

Open the Settings Window (WIN +I) > Time & Language > Language > Keyboard > Language Bar Options > Advanced Key Settings.

Take a screenshot of this window and post it in your next reply.

I can't read Chinese or other Asian languages, but I can see that CAPS LOCK is selected so that looks good.

Please open devmgmt.msc and take a screenshot of the HID devices and keyboards.

The three unfolded categories are:
Keyboards
Human-machine interface devices
Mouse and other pointing devices

Please run the following tool to see if there are orphaned USB-devices listed.

Download

DevNodeClean of Microsoft to your desktop.
  • Right-click on devnodeclean.zip and select the option Extract All.
  • When unpacked click the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt .
  • When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator.
  • When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following command into it, and press enter.
Code:
cd "%userprofile%\desktop\devnodeclean\x64"
devnodeclean /n > "%userprofile%\desktop\DevNodeClean.txt"
  • The logfile DevNodeClean.txt is saved on your desktop.
  • Post this logfile as attachment in your next reply.

Nothing special is listed, I would first try to remove (Unstall) the DURGOD k310 from the Device Manager and reboot the system too see if the indicators on the keyboard are working again.

Thanks for help so far.
It's very late here now(UTC+8), and the Windows auto update has again done some updates that I suppose will fail and needs me to restart.
So I'll come back tomorrow morning to continue this thread and attach a renewed CBS.zip if the update error persists

Great! The indicator now is working and I'll soon test this method on my razer mouse.
BTW, the update error again occurs.
Here is the new CBS.zip

Good news here. The razer mouse is successfully recognized now.
I think we can focus on the Windows update error.😄

Hi,

Glad to hear that problem has been solved.

Export registry key as hive file.
  • Open the Start menu of Windows and type CMD.
  • When you see Command Prompt on the list, select the option Run as administrator.
  • Copy and paste the following command into the command prompt and press enter.
Code:
reg save "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services" "%userprofile%\Desktop\Services.hiv"
  • Once done, a file will appear on your desktop, called Services.hiv.
  • ZIP this file and attach it to your next reply.
