Cannot send email smtp via ssl

Hello,

I'm on windows 7 pro 64 bit and outlook 2000.

I have two computers with same configuration and software.
On one computer I can send emails from outlook 2000 smtp via ssl on the other computer I cannot.
The email stays in the output folder for ever. In cports I see the connection "time waiting".

I cannot find the reason, why on one computer it works and on the other not.

thanks for your reply.
orange.fr is the provider.
both computers are on this provider.
I forgot to say that the ssl problem is for both smtp and pop.
We are on windows 7 pro 64bit.

I think it never worked.
We always connected without ssl.
But now orange published the connection parameters with ssl.
So I changed the values and recognized the problem.

I have disabled the firewall and ssl is still not working.

Hi again,
we are using the standard windows firewall of windows 7 pro 64bit.
We are not using any antivirus software.
Where do i find the log of outlook 2000 ?

Hi,

thanks for the tip.
I checked IE settings: both SSL and TLS boxes are all enabled.
Unfortunately even with these settings the problem still occurs.
I have even used the option: "Recognize & Repair" in outlook2000 with the install cd inserted.

I'm sorry, but on my system no log is created, or I cannot find it, even with the screenshots of you above.

I do not see this dialog box.
May be I clicked "don't show again" long time ago.
Atleast I do not find an option to enable it again.
May be you can tell me the key and value in registry to do that.

I really appreciate your effort for this annoying issue. (y)

It's not:
firewall
outlook setting
ie setting
etc.

the only thing I could imagine is the network configuration.
this is a work-network of 4 computers all connected with network cable or wireless to the router.

I could imagine, that the problem could be inside this network.
the network works fine synchronizing files and every computer has internet access. (no shared internet access)

It's a nightmare finding out this ssl issue.
BTW accessing internet webs via https is no problem by each computer.
