I have 3 disks volumes.
SSD 500G, the windows 10 is installed on it.
SSD 500G, programs are installed.
HDD, 1T, backup disk.

I will run the tool when I come back home and update the status several hours later.

Try Windows Update again and report the result.

Disable Secure Boot in the BIOS settings.
Please read Disabling Secure Boot how to do that.

Are you able to upgrade Windows now ?

Unfortunately, there is no option 'secure boot' in my motherboard, GIGABYTE Z77m-D3H. I have asked GIGABYTE the question, they told me that.

If you have multiple drives, disconnect all of them except the one with the OS on it.
Check Windows Updates again and report the result.

Follow the instructions below:

1. Hold down the Shift button on your keyboard while you reboot your machine. Keeping holding the Shift button down until the "Choose an Option" screen comes up.

2. Click Troubleshoot - Advanced Options - Command Prompt
3. Type the following command's into Command Prompt, press enter after each.

Code:
bootrec /scanos
bootrec /rebuildbcd
bootrec /fixmbr
bootrec /fixboot

4. Now you can type exit and then click the continue button to boot back into Windows.

Please let me know if you have any questions while doing this. It's important that everything is typed exactly with spaces, slashes, etc.

Unfortunately, there is no options you mentioned in my computer. I only have "turn off your PC"

Weird, did you press and hold down the left SHIFT key ?

I tried again today, and the result is the same. there is only one option there "Turn off your PC".
em......

In your initial post you mentioned created a bootable Windows 10 USB drive.
Boot from this and see if you then get the options.

Please go to Settings - Update & security - Recovery - Reset this PC.
Click Get started and choose to keep all your files.

Hi, Peter,

I resolved this problem. The main reason why I can't install the update is that I moved the EFI folder from my EFI volume to my OS volume.

For example,
I have 5 volumes,
1st is MSR, about 128MB
2nd is EFI, 300 MB
3rd is OS volume, my win10 is installed on this volume
4th is data, I storage all of my data on this volume.
5th is macosx, I install yosemite macosx on this volume.

I used UEFI to boot, and installed a 'Clover' on EFI volume to boot both win10 and macosx. After installing win10, I moved the folder EFI/Microsoft/* from EFI volume to my OS volume. The 'Clover' can scan and get all EFI boot system from the hard disks. So it can work fine. However, the win10 update may not be able to find the relateve files, and fail to update the OS.

Now after I moved the folder back to EFI volume, my win10 was updated to 1709 successfully.

Please help to mark this problem as 'resolved'.

Thanks a lot for your help.
