[SOLVED] [10v1803b17134 x64] Machine just crashes, no BSOD. Sometimes it freezes up.

Re: Machine just crashes, no BSOD. Sometimes it freezes up.

I see you have two RAM sticks. Please try removing one and using your computer with only one stick for a while to see if it happens again. If it does, do the same but with the other stick of RAM.

Will do.

Pulled one RAM stick and it crashed with a kernel power error overnight. I pulled that stick and now will try the other.

I think we have resolved the problem. It was the AMD drivers.

Through the troubleshooting process I had several days of frustration trying to get the drivers un-installed, then installed.

To condense and review the big items, under the command prompt, we put the machine into the verifier mode, which immediately produced a BSOD. After this, I put the machine into the Safe Mode and it was the only way it would run. I uploaded diagnostic log files and you were able to see that I was having problems with the graphic (and APU?) drivers. You issued instructions to uninstall the drivers using, DUU, which I did. Unfortunately, I could not reinstall the AMD Radeon drivers, the installation programs kept hanging up or gave error messages, particularly like "Catalyst Manager failed to load detection driver". This is where I spent hours and hours trying to work through. I tried a couple of different AMD installation files and nothing worked. I had sent a service ticket into AMD and was just starting to get them involved.

Other crazy symptoms appeared, such as my Windows Update Setting screen being completeely white. (several posts highly recommend that Windows 10 be completely up to date).

At this point, the machine would never boot into the normal mode without a BSOD and I was restricted to the Safe Mode. I thought if I somehow could get it to boot into the Normal Mode I might be able to install the drivers.

Then I remembered Verifier. Still in Safe Mode, I opened the command prompt typed verifier /reset which ends the verifier run. I rebooted the machine and voila! It opened in the normal mode. At this point I easily installed the new graphic drivers and all seems well. It has been about 24 hours since I did this and as far as I can tell, the computer hasn't hung up or rebooted itself a single time. I checked Event Viewer and ther are no Kernel 41 errors. (there are lots of DistributedCOM errors, but I guess that's no big deal).

Since I am a glutton for punishment, I restarted the verifier command yesterday, but haven't seemed to have any issues. I think it's time to take it off now.
In hindsight, it seems so simple. Sometimes while chasing computer problems you go, as my friend calls it, down the rabbit hole. You try and accomplish one diagnostic or repair but you are obstructed by other things and wind up going in various unproductive paths. I appreciate your time spent helping me and point me in the correct direction
