[11 home] 0x7E BSOD. FIX: I updated Windows and removed gameflt.sys

Hey so this may no longer be fixed, left my pc running all night to install a game and it BSOD after I restarted it. The bugcheck name is KMODE EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED, this BSOD happened when I tried to remote in just after it had got to the windows sign in screen and a quick google says that this exception can be down to network drivers. Any ideas or is this something not to worry and just dont remote inmmediately after start up?

Going to unmark as solved for now,

Had a look at the minidump file and the only process I could pick out that I recognise is steam.exe again, so have disabled this on startup to see if that has any effect, if it doesnt BSOD again for a few days/week then I'll mark as solved again,

Thanks again and any help is appreciated

Hey yes I'm just working on downloading latest chipset, BIOS I'm a bit more reticent to do though. Do you think its neccessary to do now or could it be done at a later date?

FRST Registry Search
1. Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.
Note: You need to run the 64-bit Version so please ensure you download that one.
2. Run FRST64 by Right-Clicking on the file and choosing Run as administrator.
3. Copy and paste gameflt.sys into the Search box and click the Search Registry button.
4. When the scan is complete a notepad window will open with the results. Please attach this to your next reply. It is saved on your desktop named SearchReg.txt.

Thanks, let's do one more time FRST search but with the .sys omitted and with your DRIVERS hive loaded as well.

FRST Registry Search
1. Click your Start button and type in cmd.
2.After you find the Command Prompt, right click on it and select Run as Administrator.
3. Copy and paste the following into the Command Prompt:
reg load HKLM\DRIVERS C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\DRIVERS
4. Run FRST64 by Right-Clicking on the file and choosing Run as administrator.
5. Copy and paste gameflt into the Search box and click the Search Registry button.
6. When the scan is complete a notepad window will open with the results. Please attach this to your next reply. It is saved on your desktop named SearchReg.txt.

You did a FRST scan and not a FRST registry search. Please read the instructions carefully again.

Thanks, I've found what I was looking for now, could you please create a restore point or backup and then enter the following command into an elevated command prompt window:

Code:
pnputil /delete-driver oem10.inf /uninstall /reboot

The system will reboot if needed so please save any work you have open and close any running applications before executing the above command.

Just ran that command and the below was output,

Driver package uninstalled.
Driver package deleted successfully.

Thanks, please use the system as you normally would for now and lets see if it crashes again. If it does, then please provide the latest dump files.
