The information area for the driver should contain:
- information that would help the user identify what device/program that this driver belongs to.
- it also should have any hints/comments that would help a BSOD analyst to help a user identify what device/program that this driver is associated with.
- any specific comments such as "Known to cause BSOD's in some Win7 systems"
This is the closest link to the actual download that the user would need. In practice, if multiple versions are given, then I post a link to where the user would select the version (such as selecting the OS version). If possible, I like to put both Support and Downloads links - but that's optional at this time.
My intent here is for the user to be able to click on a link in the DRT and be delivered to the actual driver manufacturer's download page(s). That way we can avoid users getting drivers from Windows Update or from the PC Manufacturer. While these other sources of drivers are adequate for systems that aren't having problems - when systems are BSODing they need the latest drivers to ensure that those drivers aren't the cause.
