[SOLVED] A clock interrupt was not received on a secondary processor - 0x101 - Windows 7 x86

I tested mry ram with and it goes 8 passes and total time taken was 6 hour. But when i escape test after 8 passes during boot again cpu got hang and processor's fan start making noise !!what type of symptom it is?

It may be overheating, usually there will be a thermal sensor and then some protection mechanism, which causes the CPU to stop and cause the computer to turn itself off for safety reasons. I would suggest opening the case and then checking inside for dust accumulation.

but cpu does not off it got hang!!do i really need to reapply thermal paste coz as i said it always happen when i give some load for hours to cpu

Indeed, that should definitely be your next priority. Ensure you properly reapply it, and while you're at it, ensure all fans/heat sinks and the case itself are dust-free.

Patrick

I have reapplied. Thermal paste after cleaning older paste and heatsink and cooling fan.now I hope the problm wont occur again.a big thanks to mr patrick and xblue robot for help.

i reapplied Thermal paste after cleaning older paste and heatsink and cooling fan but sad to say the problem still occur cpu still hang (HARDWARE STOPPED WORKING INCLUDING CPU RESET AND POWER BUTTON) now m thinking is it motherboard?:noidea:

CPU before motherboard. I cannot realistically have any definitive answers of course if I cannot unfortunately see any crash dumps.

As I said, I don't have any definitive answers because I haven't actually seen crash dumps. Can you please describe what happens, as in-depth as you possibly can?

Ok .the first time it happen was 10t april.whenever i run a game for a long time then this thing happen if it did not happen after exiting game, then pc must hang on next boot it goes hang on boot screen and if it does'nt then after log on.And by saying hang means hardware stopped functioning .As i am noticing holding CPU POWER BUTTON to switch it off does not work even restart button. only processor fan and psu works and my Ethernet ports blink, but when i replug my mouse or keyboard usb in cpu port then it starts blinking(mouse light) but does not function .And i only saw a BSOD error 2 days earlier while running a game 'a clock interrupt was not recieved on secondary processor' then i never saw it again only hanging problem is happening!

Okay, thanks.

1. How are your temperatures since reapplying the thermal paste?

2. Update the BIOS if available.

3. Before and after updating the BIOS, clear the CMOS. Don't overclock, adjust any settings, etc.

4. If the above fails, you have a faulty CPU/motherboard given the provided information. I cannot tell you which one, but if there's warranty/replacement available for both, I would replace both.

Patrick

Which method should i use for clearing cmos?Factory default BIOS option,By using motherboard jumper,or by removing CMOS battery ?

Either works just fine, however my preferred method is to power down the system, unplug the power cord to the PSU, switch the motherboard jumper for 10 seconds, switch back, plug power cord back in, boot up.

Patrick

here is my cpu temp and RPM ggggggg.png

Looks just fine for idle, just as long as that number stays in a safe range during load (not really going higher than 80 ~ not touching 90c).
