That triggered a few memories.
Was looking through the old versions of Windows, when I saw Windows 3.1 (Windows for Workgroups) and realised that I still had an old Toshiba laptop with that installed. So I dug it out from the attic, and to my surprise it still boots. Had to plug it into the mains, because of course the battery no longer had charge, but other than that it functioned perfectly.

It sure did! My first home OS was Windows 3.1 and Windows for Workgroups at work.
Made me smile looking back at the old OS screenshots - it's amazing how many memories it evoked 
After mainframes my first PC (Northstar) used an OS called CPM.
