[SOLVED] Applying Windows update fails

OK.

Open an elevated commandprompt.
Copy and paste the following commands into the commandprompt window and press enter after each.
Bcdedit /set {bootmgr} device partition=\Device\HarddiskVolume3
Bcdedit /deletevalue {bootmgr} path


Post a screenshot of the result.
 
Reboot the machine with the old HDD connected.
When Windows starts normally, shutdown and start Windows without the old HDD connected.

I followed your steps and I unfortunately ran into the same issue as in post 42.

bcdboot c:\Windows /s G: /f ALL

Something isn't right with the given parameters but it seems valid according to this manual: BCDBoot Command-Line Options
This issue goes beyond my scope.
