Audio popping and crackling - Windows 10 Home

So when I uninstall Realtek and them restart my computer it is immediately available again. Not sure what is happening.

So when I uninstall Realtek Audio and reboot it starts with a default Microsoft driver but then gets overwritten by Realtek before I can do anything.

Can you check Device Manager to see what version of the Realtek driver is loading? It should be under the "Sound, video and game controllers" node.

I'm guessing that's the one included with the Windows installation media or from Windows Update. If so, it should be a minimal driver perhaps without any associated Realtek software. Is there a Realtek item in Apps & Features still or is that gone? Is there a "Driver Date" in the properties for that driver?

So the Realtek High Definition Audio Driver gets reinstalled once I reboot the computer. This is the only Realtek item I can find in Add or Remove Programs. The driver date is 4/12/2016.

Okay, please create another trace while the system is simultaneously running a quick antivirus scan and playing a HD video on Youtube that includes audio.

That trace actually looks pretty good. Certainly better as far as HDAudBus.sys ISR processing time. Have you tried Siege with this driver configuration?

It definitely looks better than the previous Siege traces. Some HDAudioBus.sys ISRs are running a little longer than I'm used to seeing but probably not long enough to cause noticeable audio glitches. The DPCs look good, though. The drivers that come with Windows or through Windows Update are usually very basic. Does the audio quality seem okay?

The audio quality sounds exactly how it used to. I played around 8 matches in total now and have not noticed anything. I think I will try creating a restore point and then attempt to update the drivers to the more current versions.

There's a more recent driver for Realtek HD Audio available from the the Microsoft Update Catalog here. This video describes how to extract and install the drivers from the cab if you want to give it a try. The download is newer than the one in the video but the steps of extracting and updating the drivers from the cab should be the same. I'm not 100 percent sure they are for your particular audio components but if they aren't it should just tell you that you already have the latest drivers for your system.
