Back again! Still BSOD and crashing issues

I was just talking to one of the tech guys at TigerDirect, he was saying its an antipiracy measure by microsoft that binds the key used for win8 to that computer permanently through the bios. His words, though I it isn't the first time I've heard of companies encrypting bios information so I'm not entirely disbelieving him, so I figured I'd mention it to get your guys' inputs.

System stability is pretty well. Temps could still be cooler. I idle between high 40's and mid 50's. Playing graphic intensive games brings it to low 70's so I'm definitely keeping that water cooling h100 in mind. Like i said, my case is designed for it anyhow.

But after testing, BSOD issues are still present.

Your temperatures are still high... My thoughts are leaning towards your CPU being faulty or damaged... Very rare but it can happen.

Yes, he was talking about the OEM preinstallations, not Retail. It is a Microsoft anti-piracy measure and is accomplished with the use of UEFI over BIOS.

Are you overclocking your CPU and/or RAM by chance?

I'm sorry it wasn't an article that I heard about it, I discussed this issue with a tech at TigerDirect who explained that whole process with me and how much trouble win8 has caused with both upgrades and factory preinstallation. I'm inclined to believe him but I wanted your guys' opinions as well.

He said that because of the issue, I could do 1 of 2 things: give them $60 to diagnose the issue and then $120 to possibly fix it, or buy a new mobo.

On a positive note, the temps are much better but still could improve. Stability is the same but still dealing with those predictable blue screen problems.

Hmmm... Leave it to a salesperson to want to sell you something, eh?

If Windows 8 modified the UEFI in any way (if you have UEFI) then a UEFI update should cure that issue. But I am almost 100% certain that it isn't the case.

Back to the last question... Are you overclocking your CPU or RAM?

My bad, didn't realize the thread carried over into the second page so I didn't see your question.

No, nothing is overclocked including GPU. Never has been as I've never seen the necessity for having what I have and their respective power. Certainly not the most powerful, but definitely get today's computing done no problem.

I acknowledge my temps, still considering getting the h100 cooling but moreso considering saving for a new build as I've always been inclined to believe the processor was on its way out.

Would you have any beliefs or insights on whether flashing the BIOS would help?

Personally, I don't think that it will...

Not to mention... If there is a hardware issue with your CPU, flashing the BIOS could easily brick the system.

I will get back to you when I have a bit more time... I want to stress your CPU, but I am unsure which method should be used...

Alright, I'm not too sure of any method on how to stress it but suggestions and links and I'll give it a shot.

I'm aware of the risks of flashing the BIOS, just wanted to see if you had any thoughts on whether it'd be worth the risk.

The Bios ID string is used in the security string when the OS install is first activated over the net, along with other hardware ID's, if reinstalled the activation process checks to see if the data has changed.
It does not write any data or info to the bios code on the motherboard.

From your earlier screenshot the Voltages are off quite a bit they should be +/- 5% of the spec, what are the readings in the Bios for the 12v, 5v, and 3.3v rails?
