[SOLVED] Blue screens for last 1.5 year - Windows 7 x64

Memtest:
Interesting results I would say. Test ran for almost 3,5 hours and 1445 errors were found.. I have 8 gb of RAM (2x4GB: D3 8GB 1600-999 XMS K2 COR)
See attachement for testresult. What does it mean?

If test needs to run longer (its seems to go on 4ever?) or if I can present results in another better way, please let me know :-)

Harddrive:
Is there an other way (then WD test) to check 2nd WD 500 gb blue?

Conclusion:
So sofar we have RAM giving errors and one harddrive giving an error when testing.. progress!

You have a ram problem, once you see any error you can stop the test.

Test one stick at a time lets see if either one will pass.

MEMTEST
OK will do that: how long do I need to run the test to be sure no errors might come on one of the RAM sticks?

WD HD TEST
Just got BSoD with D drive plugged out. Logfile is attached. AVG scan was updating..

Hello Wrench97,
RAM no. 1 gave errors: Number written on stick: CMX8GX3M2A1600C9.
RAM no. 2 gave no error after 1 hour of running (6 passes? I'm not sure). Partnumber (with CPUz): CMX8GX3M2A1600C9. I guess its a set as both have same part number, correct?

RAM no. 1 is removed from PC now.

8GB XMS Memory kit for dual channel systems, 1600MHz, 9-9-9-24, 1.65V

Lets make sure the ram is set up correctly.

In CPUz use the snipping tool and give us a screen shot on the memory tab.

Then in the Bios make sure the dram voltage is set to 1.65v.

As said RAM no. 1 is out now, no. 2 is in. If you need info of both RAM's please let me know then I'll give you screentags with both RAM's in.

Not sure how to check voltage of dram in BIOS.. google is not a big help in this case... Something in the Ai tweaker menu, I understood. Can you help me in this also?

Jpeg's CPUz and BIOS attached.

You've got the ram overclocked to 1640 Set the BLCK back to the stock 100 changing that ups everything, with the 2500k you just want to change the multiplier.

-BLCK back to 100 (still on manual)
-I Don't understand your comment about 2500k,change,multiplier. If I need to change a setting on this subject, could you be more specific? Thanks.
-RAM runs on 1.65 Volt. BUT user Guide motherboard recommends to use RAM that can run on a lower voltage then 1.65V. See picture.

Attached:
- Picture User guide motherboard,
- Ai tweaker menu BLCK
- Ai tweake rmenu scrolled down RAM voltage.
- CpuID 2nd picture (no more overclocking?)

It looks like you help is really getting us to the solution, much appreciated!

1.5v is normal for DDR3 but you bought 1.65v DDR3 so for 1600 speeds and XMP settings that's where it has to run, currently you have it set to auto and it's running at 1333 speeds( Dram Frequency of 666.5 x 2(x2 for double data rate) = 1333) so you should be able to set the voltage lower and not have any issues.

After making the final settings with both sticks installed rerun Memtest86+ and see if you get any errors.

I set voltage lower (1.5) although it had auto selected 1.5 volt already with both sticks in (?). See picture.

Ran Memtest86+: error occurred. See picture.

Set it back up to 1.65v and retest if it still fails contact Corsair as it should have a lifetime warranty.

What sticks did you have installed previously?

Previouse sticks: D3 8GB 1600-999 XMS K2 COR. Same same..

Will run test again on 1.65v...
If errors comes back: ask for warranty and replace with 1333 mhz sticks, running lower the 1.65V ?

Ok test with both sticks in, BCLK 100:
1333 mhz 1.5 V (2nd check) ERROR
1333 mz 1.65 V ERROR
1600 MHZ 1.65 V ERROR

If you are getting errors with both sticks this may end up being a motherboard problem but I would still start by contacting Corsair I have in the past seen them have a solution, And I have also swapped sticks out for a different brand(GSkill) and not had any more issues.

Hi Wrench97, Bruce,
Thanks for this conclusion for the moment,
I might send back the COR memory. What GS memory would you advice for my pc? 8 gb set.

The shop where I always buy:
ALTERNATE - dé online computer en elektronica specialist!

By the way I also ran tests with both sticks in a different slot but this also gave errors; could this conclude that motherboard is not causing these errors?

Cheers,
