Boot to Bluescreen in normal mode, Black screen in safe mode

This is a feature that is unique to Windows 10...

Maybe that's my problem as I myself run Windows 8.1 x64 on my HP ENVY 17 core i7 laptop. I always use it when posting on the forums.

The kiddies' systems all run Windows 10 x64 full retail. One other older system here runs Windows 7 x64.

One other question - the thread title - "Boot to Bluescreen in normal mode, Black screen in safe mode".

Somewhere in this thread, you stated that your 1 TB HDD runs perfectly in safe mode - no BSODs.

So where does the "...Black screen in safe mode" come from -- or when does it occur?

Before I started playing with the system, it used to boot up into safe mode normally. After various configuration changes and file replacement, it stopped booting into safe mode and went to a black screen instead. I had imaged this system that could boot into safemode onto the SSD and played with that config until I broke it. When I got frustrated, I switched back to the mechanical drive version and proceeded to work on that instead which I too eventually borked due to various configuration changes and file replacements.

OK - thanks.

Please keep us posted on your testing with the new Windows 7 installation on the 1 TB HDD.
