BSOD nvlddmkm.sys

Sorry, I cannot look at them today, I have turned my computer off for tonight. I will look at them tomorrow. Perhaps someone else could look at them whilst I am not availible.

Thanks for your patience.

Stephen

Hello again,

Please accept my appologies once again, I have been very busy today and have not had chance to do any analysis. I promise to look at them tomorrow.

Thanks for your patience and once again, I am very sorry for the delay.

Stephen

Recommendations:
I see you have already tackled the software side of these crashes. I just got caught up to speed reading the steps accomplished so far. I would recommend doing some hardware testing:

  • Run FurMark to test the display card for artifacts and temperature issues.

  • Run Display card memory tests to check the display card for memory problems.

  • Run Memtest86+ for at least 7-10 passes. It may take up to 22 passes to find problems. Make sure to run it once after the system has been on for a few hours and is warm, and then also run it again when the system has been off for a few hours and is cold.

  • Run Prime95 to test your CPU, RAM modules, and general hardware.

Thanks to usasma for compiling the hardware testing tools.

Problematic Drivers:
I also recommend you update/replace/remove the following drivers:

wanatw64.sys Mon Apr 11 16:07:10 2005 (425AF50E)
Wan Miniport (ATW) America Online
http://www.carrona.org/drivers/driver.php?id=wanatw64.sys

WinRing0x64.sys Sat Jul 26 07:29:37 2008 (488B26C1)
many different programs that center around the using of the WinRing libraries (found in Real Temp directory in this topic: http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-...eoccurring-bsod-ntoskrnl-exe.html#post1792027 )
http://www.carrona.org/drivers/driver.php?id=WinRing0x64.sys

To update drivers, make sure to download the drivers from the manufacturer and not using 3rd party programs. Your drivers should be found from your motherboard support site (ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI, etc.) or your vendor support site (Dell, HP, Toshiba, Sony, etc.) first. If you have devices you bought yourself, the drivers for those devices need to be downloaded from the manufacturer support site for those devices. If you need help, let us know.

To remove drivers, do so by uninstalling the device or software associated with the driver. Devices can be uninstalled through device manager, and then the device itself should be physically removed from the system if possible.

sptd.sys

sptd.sys Sat Aug 18 15:05:38 2012 (503003A2)
SCSI Pass Through Direct Host - Daemon Tools (known BSOD issues with Win7)
http://www.carrona.org/drivers/driver.php?id=sptd.sys

Please remove any CD/DVD virtualization software, such as Daemon Tools/Alcohol 120%, as they use a driver called sptd.sys that is known to cause BSODs. Use add/remove programs to remove the software. After removing the software, use the sptd.sys uninstaller to remove sptd.sys from the system.

Many use MagicISO - Convert BIN to ISO, Create, Edit, Burn, Extract ISO file, ISO/BIN converter/extractor/editor instead, which is free.

3rd Party Drivers:
The following is for information purposes only. My recommendations were given above. The drivers that follow belong to software or devices that were not developed by Microsoft. Any drivers in red should be updated/replaced/removed. You can find links to the driver information and where to update the drivers in the section after the code box:

Hi again,
I uninstalled driver wanatw64.sys Mon Apr 11 16:07:10 2005 (425AF50E) Wan Miniport (ATW) America Online, and this one related to Daemon Tools sptd.sys Sat Aug 18 15:05:38 2012 (503003A2) SCSI Pass Through Direct Host - Daemon Tools (known BSOD issues with Win7) . The 2 drivers that apear in perfmon are result of uninstalling the Nvidia Driver, since when nvidia driver is installed i get the bsod error :( i have attached the latest report

Don't give up hope! :) BSOD's need quite a long troubleshooting process to fix but we will fix them. Not boasting, but here we have the best BSOD analysts from around the world. If we can't fix it, no one can! :)

Anyway, all your dump files show the Nvidia driver (nvlddmkm.sys) at fault. Try the hardware tests that Writhziden mentioned above:

If you have any questions, just ask.

Stephen

Report back the results. For example, if you run Furmark for a few hours and it comes back with no errors, tell me. If after the few hours of testing it errors, post back with the errors copied and pasted into the post. They won't solve the issue, just tell us what to focus on.

Also should i run all the hardware thingies with the nvidia driver installed ? forgot to mention this thing

For memtest, it doesn't matter, it runs outside of windows. For the others, if you can try with. If it crashes instantly with the NVidia driver, try without to get a longer test.

Yes, if you can get the NVIDIA drivers installed, that would provide more accurate results about the hardware by allowing the display card to be fully utilized and diagnosed.

only get the bsod while playing games atm , will try to run them will nvidia card installed , will get back to you guys as soon as possible .thanks !

Atm running furMark , first time my laptop shuted down , dunno why and what do i have to do now ? I mean the temp is 99C which is kinda high .
Edit1 : i have attached a print screen of the results after the furmark ended .( dunno if that means smth to you )
Edit 2 : also run MemtestG80 and i think no error was found , black screen keep dissappearing fast after the 50 iterations or how they are called .
Edit 3 : started to run Memtest86+ from stick 1 h ago , my cooler went nuts and it`s very very noisy i think he has 100 rot / s . should i let memtest86 running over night ?

It sounds like your cooling system is not working right. I've seen acer in the past skimp on the heatsink thermal paste, so I wouldn't be surprised if your problems were related.

Is this system still under warranty?

Have you tried blowing the dust out of the system?

To remove dust, follow the subsequent general procedure. If you have a desktop bought from Dell, HP, Sony, Lenovo, etc. make sure removing the desktop casing will not void your warranty first. Call the company if you are still under warranty and ask if it is okay to remove the casing and blow dust out. The procedure described is fine for laptops; just make sure no stickers are on panels saying if you remove the panel it will void the warranty.
  1. Shut down and turn off your computer.
  2. Unplug all power supplies to the computer (AC Power then battery for laptops, AC power for desktops)
  3. Hold down the power button for 30 seconds to close the circuit and ensure all power drains from components.
  4. Remove the casing for a desktop, or remove any screwed on panels and disc drives for laptops.
  5. Blow out the dust inside by using a can of compressed air or a low pressure compressor. You will want to put the computer on a desk or table so you can maintain the can in an upright position if using a can of air. Blow into all crevices on the motherboard, heat sinks, cards, modules, etc. for a desktop. Blow into vents, opened panels, disc drive areas, USB ports, and the keyboard if it is a laptop. You may also want to blow inside the disc drive by replacing the drive to the laptop, starting the computer, opening the drive, and then turning off the computer and removing all power as described above including the 30 second power button step. For a desktop, you may also want to blow inside the disc drive by starting the computer, opening the drive, and then turning off the computer and removing all power as described above including the 30 second power button step.
  6. Replace casing for the desktop. Replace panels and disc drive (if you have not already done so) for the laptop.
  7. Plug power supplies in. AC adapter for the desktop. Battery and then AC Adapter for the laptop.
  8. Start the computer and see if performance is better.

Easier Laptop steps:

  1. Get a can of compressed air...
  2. Shut down and turn off your system...
  3. Unplug the system from any docking stations...
  4. Remove the AC Adapter and then remove the battery...
  5. Hold down the power button for 30 seconds to ensure all power is drained from the components. This closes the circuit and allows any remaining power to dissipate; it also clears the temporary memory of corruption and resets hardware/software connections. No permanent changes are made to the system doing this step...
  6. Use the can of compressed air to blow into every vent, crevice, keyboard key, USB port, VGA/monitor port, etc...
  7. Replace the battery and then plug in the AC Adapter...
  8. Replace the docking station...
  9. See how the system runs after doing all these steps...

WARNING: Never use a vacuum cleaner or hair drier to clean dust out of your system!!

Hey,
My system isn t under warranty anymore . I cleaned the laptop 8 months ago or so , atm running memtest86+ , 12 h have passed and i am at pass 5 with no error , and the cooler stll very noisy , how much should i keep memtest86+ running ? Also want to mention that i bought the laptop with 4 gb, and i attached 4 gb more next day .
Edit1 : also can the removal of the dust be the solution to my problem ?

Depending on the area you live in, dust can accumulate fairly quickly inside a laptop system. I usually clean my own systems out every 2-3 months. Cleaning your system out may solve your problems, but at the very least, it will probably improve the thermal management of the system.

Whether it will solve the problem, I cannot guarantee that is the only thing causing your heat issues. 99 C is very close to the max for your processor, so if dust removal does not bring that down, you will need to take the system apart and re-apply the thermal paste or have a computer repair place do so for you. It depends on how comfortable you are with laptop electronics: Thermal Paste and How To Use It.

As for the RAM upgrade: How did you choose the RAM to put in the system? Did you check compatibility? Were you careful replacing the RAM not to damage the PC with electrostatic discharge?
