It actually worked, patch is installed successfully! Wow, I'm impressed, did not think it would succeed. Thank you so much! :angel1::thumbsup2:

One thing though, I thought this patch problem was the only thing obstructing the update to Windows 10, but I still get the message 'this report is not available now' when I click on 'check your pc' in the Windows 10 download pane. Am I wrong here and isn't this related at all, or could it be I still have to wait till I get a message about the update?

If you would like, you can install the Windows 10 Upgrade directly here: Installing Windows 10 using the media creation tool - Windows Help
Since you are already running Windows 8.1 I would not expect any major incompatibilities.
