[SOLVED] CBS MUM Corrupt 0x800F0900 & Blank/Empty Windows Features On/Off page

Ok i can't install it via Windows Update nor can i install it after downloading the x64 Client manually (german) and trying to install it.
Following error occurs: Error Code 9C59 -> Help: 10 Results for "WindowsUpdate_00009C59" "WindowsUpdate_dt000"

It also gives me that link https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2847882 which shows me what prerequisites (updates) i need for IE 11.

Should i download and install them ?
 
No not yet. This is a common problem unfortunately (downgrading IE and then trying to re-install). Please zip/attach the following two logs.

There are a few things we can try. First I would like you to go to Windows Update and install any IE9 updates that are available. See if those will install. Keep checking for updates and install only IE9 related updates. Once this is done see if you can then install IE10. If IE10 fails to install please send me the following two logs.

I had a 6800 before i switched out the graphics card. Got an Nvidia 960GTX now.

Thanks. I found the following information that worked for someone with this issue. Are you able to follow the instructions? Please let me know if you have any questions.


  1. Run the IE11 installer and wait until it gets to the 'Install Internet Explorer 11' prompt. Do not close this window.
  2. Go into 'C:\Windows\temp' and look for the most recently created folder with 'IE' at the beginning of it's name. E.g. 'IE1CF18.tmp'.
  3. Go into that folder and verify that you can see the following two .cab files; 'IE11-neutral.Downloaded.cab' and 'IE11-neutral.Extracted.cab'. If you do, then carry onto the next step. If you don't, then go back a level and try one of the other similarly named folders.
  4. Use that folder name to create the path for the .cab files to be installed from. E.g.: C:\Windows\temp\IE1CF18.tmp
  5. Now, substituting my example path with the one you determined in the last step, run an elevated Command Prompt and enter the following commands in the order listed:
    dism.exe /online /add-package /packagepath:C:\Windows\temp\IE1CF18.tmp\IE11-neutral.Extracted.cab /quiet /norestart
    dism.exe /online /add-package /packagepath:C:\Windows\temp\IE1CF18.tmp\IE11-neutral.Downloaded.cab /quiet /norestart
  6. When done, return to the 'Install Internet Explorer 11' prompt and click 'Install'. With a bit of luck it should successfully install.
 
You Sir are awesome! It worked and i could install IE 11. I will run "sfc /scannow" and the CheckSUR once again just to see if the issues i had before with IE 11 still occur. I thank you for the help :)
 
Ok "sfc /scannow" was fine although CheckSUR found some issues.

Ok thank you! Only one more question: Since you know i got Windows 7 SP1 Pro and everything is fine i don't really want to upgrade this machine to Windows 10 (yet, maybe never). Would it be wise to go for GWX Control Panel by Josh Mayfield which is mentioned in an article (if you google it you find some). Since Windows 10 Upgrade is constantly checked/marked even if it is optional and i got to uncheck it all the time or should i just ignore it and am still one the safe side by deactivating windows auto-updates and install them manually (Which i kinda already do).
