Hello,
I would need some help to understand my administrative privileges on my laptop. I'm pretty new to W10.
And I would like to smooth out some "access denied" issues.
Thanks in advance
P.

Thank you for your reply.
I admit that my issue was finding out that Windows defender is under SYSTEM and no folder can be seen or even cleaned as it used to be.
At this stage, I'm asking myself "how can I feel in control of my laptop as I used to be in w8.1."

Sorry for whoever got it wrong, and suspected mean things/behaviours.

It's quite frustrating.

Most accesses are denied or under control of Trusted Installer or SYSTEM.
Well, I've hoped for some advise to see if, with my MCT of W10 install, I was in decent control of my old laptop, and could change (under instructions) some GPO policies.
I'm trying to learn, peacefully.
Thank you.

Thanks a lot.
Is it possible to do it via Fsrt, farbar, with a dedicated script, to speed up the process?

I have no idea. I upgraded my Win 10 last week to 19045.5608 and everything was owned by TrustedInstaller.
I am still trying to get full ownership of my system.

Thank you, @Corday. I will be 85yo in a coupla months and am very forgetful. I knew this but could not remember it. You refreshed my memory. I am now taking ownership of all my external drives (14) which are owned by "System". It was really getting really old having to give myself permission to change things on my own system.

Thank you @Corday for the helpful https://thegeekpage.com/gain-full-access-permissions-to-c-drive/
But I must have made some huge mess last evening, and now I find myself, once back from the lockscreen, with an Administrator guest (seen also through cmd net user).
I've tried hard, but unfortunately can't eliminate it, not even through the registry.
Yes, I'm at worse conditions than I waz before with the Ownership.
It's enormously frustrating.
Sorry
As last chance I've run a FRSt scan + .txt, and found skype still mentioned there.
This W10 it's driving me crazy.
Please, can I ask you for some help?
I'm attaching the logs for FRST and . txt

Feeling lost and deprecated by this W10 mess upgrade.
Waiting for your kind reply and supportive help.

Hi, Piuma.

The logs you provided don't indicate a sign of an active infection, but we can check it further and do some maintenance as well, if you like.

Let me know, and if you are fine with that, I'll ask for the topic to be moved to the Malware Removal Forum.

DR M. OP seems to have un-removed malware issues. Go ahead and move to your Security Forum. I thinks it's best for Piuma to be sure.

Corday, if you mean the items shown in the Windows Defender section in the Addition log, they are not un-removed. They are detected items by Defender which removed them. One of them concerns an external drive and not the system.

So, the topic has been moved here.

Piuma, please, adhere to the guidelines below. As soon as I have your consent, I'll start the procedure.

1. Always ask before acting. Do not continue if you are not sure, or if something unexpected happens!

2. Do not run any tools unless instructed to do so. Also, do not uninstall or install any software during the procedure, unless I ask you to do so.

3. Cracked or pirated programs are not only illegal, but also can make your computer a malware target. Having such programs installed, is the easiest way to get infected. Thus, no need to clean the computer, since, soon or later, it will get infected again. If you have such programs, please uninstall them now, before we start the cleaning procedure.

4. If your computer seems to start working normally, don't abandon the topic. Even if your system is behaving normally, there may still be some malware remnants left over. Additionally, malware can re-infect the computer if some remnants are left. Therefore, please complete all requested steps to make sure any malware is successfully eradicated from your PC.

5. You have to reply to my posts within 3 days. If you need some additional time, just let me know. Otherwise, I will leave the topic due to lack of feedback. If you are able, I would request you to check this thread at least once per day so that we can resolve your issues effectively and efficiently.

6. Logs from malware diagnostic or removal programs can take some time to get analyzed. Also, have in mind that all the experts here are volunteers and may not be available to assist when you post. Please, be patient, while I analyze your logs.

Hi,
Yes sure. Let's go ahead for some maintenance as @Corday was saying.
I still have to work out that ownership, but I won't touch anything else. Waiting for your directions.
Thanks a lot

First, I would recommend you remove Driver Booster 11. We don't recommend driver boosters, optimizers and the like, since most of the time they do more harm than good.

In case you have strong argument to keep it, keep it, but do not use it until we finish from here.

In case you follow my recommendation, uninstall it and attach fresh FRST logs for me to check.
