[SOLVED] Corrupted files found but not repaired!

Step 1:
Warning: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Do not run this script on another machine.

1. Download the attachment fixlist.txt and save it to your desktop.
2. Right-click on FRST64.exe and select "Run as administrator".
3. Press the Fix button.
4. The tool will now process fixlist.txt.
5. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
6. When finished, a log called Fixlog.txt will appear in the same directory the tool is run from.
7. Post the logfile Fixlog.txt as attachment in your next reply.

Step 2:
Check Windows Update again and report the result.
If it fails, run sfc /scannow again and attach the zipped cbs.log to your next reply.

2. Reboot The machine to complete.
3. Other log files used in this thread and SFCFix.exe can be removed manually.

Okay, thank you! I ran sfc /scannow again and it still shows corrupt files it cant fix but everything seams to be running right and updates are working again, the pc is faster and smoother than before too so I am just going to ignore the sfc /scannow.It always seams to be unhappy with something lol :-)

Lets have a look at the file cbs.log:

Click on the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator.
When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following command into it, then press enter.

Code:
copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt"

This will create a file, cbs.txt on your Desktop. Please attach this to your next post.
Note: if the file is too big to upload to your next post please upload via a service such as Filedropper or One Drive or SendSpace and just provide the download link.

Hello Peter,I tried to do that and when I copied and pasted the command it said access is denied! What should I do?

Hey Peter, that cmd denied access for some reason but what I did was copy and paste the CBS.log into a new .txt file and that is attached.I dont know if that yields the same result or not,if you need me to do something differently for it be what you wanted then please let me know.

Thank you again for having another look. The pc is really running nicely and so much faster than it was too :-)

Update seams to working fine still,it installed another language pack it kept failing on before and right after your last fix script it installed 14 critical updates that it should have done long before then so It is running great I think. Here is the new cbs log.

One odd thing though is when I exit sfc /scannow with the cmd exit the app hangs,it closes but to be able to access the cbs log I have to kill windows module installer in the task manager because it always says that the file is being used by the installer,so for instance to zip it and attach it I just now had to kill that installer to get access to do it. Shouldn't it close out completely when I close the cmd window with the exit command?

No, the file cbs.log can still be in use. That's why we ask to make a copy of the file cbs.log first and provide that copy.
Check Windows Update in the next few days then report back.

Hey Peter, the pc is updating fine and has installed a few hundred updates over the past few days and is running nicely again.Seams like everything is all good and it reports there are no further updates at this time so it must be all up to date now too.Thank you, I appreciate it all very much.Your the man :-)
