[SOLVED] Cumulative Update for Windows Server 2016 for x64-based Systems (KB4284880) Fails

Hi,

Run SFC /scannow again and tell me if it continues to report "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files"

Yes :(

Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired
them. Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For
example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. Note that logging is currently not
supported in offline servicing scenarios.

Run SFC again please and tell me if the result doesn't change.

Need to check the registry...

Export Registry keys

  • download the script ExportSbSRegistry.cmd and save it to the Desktop
  • right-click the file ExportSbSRegistry.cmd and select Run as administrator
  • when the script ends a new file called SoftwareSBS.zip will be located on the Desktop
  • If zip file is too large to upload to the forum please share the file using a service like Dropbox, Google Drive, etc. or upload to SendSpace and just provide the link for the file here

Open the Command Prompt as Administrator and Copy & Paste the following commands one by one. Each command must be executed in a single big line.

reg delete "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\SideBySide\Winners\x86_microsoft-windows-naturallanguage6-base_31bf3856ad364e35_none_3e3344a37f21d3c5" /ve /f

reg delete "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\SideBySide\Winners\x86_microsoft-windows-naturallanguage6-base_31bf3856ad364e35_none_3e3344a37f21d3c5\10.0" /ve /f

The result for each command must be "The operation complete successfully" or equivalent.

Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.

Beginning verification phase of system scan.
Verification 100% complete.

Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

Thank you Sleepy! No corruptions! :)
