DRT Page Loading Time

I tried private browsing on Pale Moon - but the search autofill seems linked (so I'm unsure of what I'm doing).
The search box comes up within a second or two, while the search results are almost immediate.

Have you compared the Sysnative mirror to the Carrona mirror?

Using Carrona.org directly, the DRT loads in ~2 seconds. Search results in well under 0.5 sec.

I rarely use private browsing in Pale Moon, my browser uptimes are often in the 6-16 day ballpark unless it's during a beta testing period. I feel private browsing is better suited to short sessions. Search autofill - in the URL (aka Awesome or Location) bar or the separate Search box? If the Location bar, options are found under (Alt) Tools > Options > Privacy > History and Location bar tabs.

Yes - I've tested both.

The time factor for me here has gotten so bad that I keep a tab up/open with the DRT all day long.

I honestly don't understand this at all -- the loading times involved here. How can mine be so off?

I use IE, but have also tried Firefox, PaleMoon, SeaMonkey, etc...

Thank you for your replies.

John

This is almost certainly a client side issue, there's very little we can do to speed this up without adding complexity (adding pages to the table for example).

From a clear cache, the DRT at Sysnative takes 2-3 seconds to load and become usable. With cache - 0.7 seconds. Times taken from the Firefox developer tools.

Running some tests from my preferred speed testing tools (Pingdom Tools and GTMetrix) gives readings of 1.51 s to load from a Dallas, US based machine (Pingdom - Website speed test) and 4.4s from London, UK (Gtmetrix - Latest Performance Report for: https://www.sysnative.com/drivers/ | GTmetrix)

The actual PHP code execution is very fast. There's a small line of text at the bottom of the Sysnative DRT now which shows how long it took the PHP code to run (including all the DB queries).

Page generated in: 0.071125 seconds.

We can't really improve much on 0.07 seconds....

That means your browser is taking ~11 seconds to download and render the HTML. It's a fairly large HTML page (250KB compressed, 1.7MB uncompressed), but that shouldn't take that long.

Can you try on a clean install of either Firefox or Chrome? What are your system specs?

The problem is definitely with IE 11 on my Windows 8.1 HP laptop.

When using an alternate browser, the time to load and have access to the table is just a few seconds.

Maybe it's time for a fresh new install?
Also, Microsoft still offers free W10 if you use any of the assistive technologies

That seems to be their official stance. Unofficially, I continue to upgrade to Windows 10 from previous Windows versions without issues.

I plan to add an SSD to this laptop + install full retail W10 that I got from MSDN.

I'd try the assistive technology update (or the free method that writhziden mentions) to upgrade your copy of W8
As the W8 is most likely activated online, the W10 should also automatically activate.
Switching from HDD to SSD isn't enough to cause a problem with activation (we do it frequently at work and never have issues with it).
That way you can save your MSDN W10 for other things you might need it with.
