[SOLVED] Error 800703F1 When trying to upgrade to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1

Step 1 - Replace DRIVERS Hive Manually

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

  1. Download DRIVERS.ZIP and save to your desktop.
  2. Right-click on it and select Extract all.... Make sure the "Show extracted files when complete" is checked and click Extract.
  3. Now we have the DRIVERS file that we will be using to replace your current one.
  4. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\config
  5. Right-click on the current DRIVERS file and select rename. Rename it to DRIVERS.bad.
Note: If you get an error that the file is in use, reboot your computer and then try again.
  6. Take the file from the DRIVERS folder on your desktop and paste it into C:\Windows\System32\config

View attachment drivers.zip

Step 2 - DISM /RestoreHealth Scan

  1. Right-click on the Start
    w8start.png
button and select Command Prompt (Admin)
  2. When command prompt opens, Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Right-click > Paste) the following command into it, then press Enter

    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

  3. When DISM finishes scanning your component store, zip up and attach your CBS log to your next post:

    C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log

That's the CBS registry file :)

Try the Windows 10 upgrade again, if it fails include the error code(s) and attach SetupAct.log and SetupErr.log

You're doing just fine :thumbsup2:

The log looks good. Let me know how the upgrade goes.

Glad to hear the upgrade worked! :grin1:

I'll mark the thread as solved, post back if you encounter any problems.
