Yes. I think I need to backup and restore my hard drive. I just purchased a 1 tb external hard drive. Can you help me do this?

Both. I just received the recovery CD from Lenovo today. I have an external optical drive being delivered because the machine does not have a drive. I also have a 1 tb external hard drive.

What is the best way to backup and restore the computer?

Personally I would just gather all of your important documents/photos/music/files etc and move them onto a external HDD.
