[SOLVED] Fail to upgrade Windows 7 to Windows 10 – error 0xC1900101 - 0x40017

Warning: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Do not run this script on another machine.
  1. Download the attachment fixlist.txt and save it to your desktop.
  2. Right-click on FRST64.exe and select "Run as administrator".
  3. Press the Fix button.
  4. The tool will now process fixlist.txt.
  5. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
  6. When finished, a log called Fixlog.txt will appear in the same directory the tool is run from.
  7. Attach the logfile Fixlog.txt to your next reply.

Step 2:
Perform a new scan with FRST.
  1. Right-click to run FRST64.exe as administrator.
  2. Note: Ensure that the Addition.txt check box is checked at the bottom of the form within the Optional Scan area.
  3. Press the Scan button.
  4. Please wait for the tool to finish. It will produce two logfiles called FRST.txt and Addition.txt in the same directory the tool is run from (which should be the desktop)
  5. Post the logfiles FRST.txt and Addition.txt as attachment in your next reply.

Save the file on your desktop.

Disable the real-time protection of your antivirus software. It may conflict with ZHPDiag.

  • Click "Scan" and wait for this to finish. This may take a while.

    (You can find this file also in the folder %AppData%\ZHP.)
 
Download ZHPFix2.exe and save the file on your desktop.

Using ZHPFix2:
  • Rightclick the file ZHPFix2.exe and select "Run as administrator".
  • Following window appears:

  • Click on the right site the 2nd bottom from the top "Paste a script" (see nr.1 in the screenshot above).
  • Click at the left-top the button "Start script" (see nr.2).
  • Wait until the green progressbar is filled (see nr.3) and the text "End of processing" is shown in the bar below (see nr.4).
Attach the log file %APPDATA%\ZHP\ZHPFix.txt to your next reply.
 
Try to upgrade again and report the result.

If you have any quick idea what to do next we can try it. Otherwise I think I'll just make a clean Win10 install and move all files & settings manually. I'm close to believeing this cannot be done on my computer and I don't want to waste your time. There are many other people you can help easily.

I made a clean Windows 7 install and upgrade succeeded. It seems the old system had some hidden errors or broken files, I don't know. Nevermind. You can close this topic. Thank you.
