"Failed to connect to a Windows Service" - Windows 10

To be hones the best option for you will be Windows Reset without loosing files.

This will remove all of the software without touching your files.

This is really simple to perform here is the guidance:
[h=4]Reset your PC[/h]Resetting lets you choose whether to keep your files or remove them, and then reinstalls Windows. To get started, go toSettings > Update & security > Reset this PC > Get started and choose an option.

 • Removes apps and drivers you installed.
 • Removes changes you made to settings.
 • Removes any apps your PC manufacturer installed. (If your PC came with Windows 10, apps from your PC manufacturer will be reinstalled.)

 • Removes any apps your PC manufacturer installed. (If your PC came with Windows 10, apps from your PC manufacturer will be reinstalled.)

If you're planning to donate, recycle, or sell your PC, use this option and choose to fully clean the drive. This might take an hour or two, but it makes it harder for other people to recover files you've removed.

Hi again all

[and thank you to Repair & Restore for helping!]

The System Reset option (saving files) should likely work (it is a bit easier to start, too). Just remember that you have to reinstall the programs you've added since you brought the machine home (or put it together ... I had hoped to look at your files today, but then a few clients called with emergencies [not too uncommon!])...

The in-place re-install is a bit trickier, since you have to have a "build" that matches. I believe that - luckily - your "build" of Windows 10 is the latest build (at least that is what your files show).... I believe you have version 1151, build 10586 ... When an in-place re-install works, you don't have to reinstall your programs.

Either way, it would be nice if that fixes things.

If I can scratch enough free time, I'll still try to have a look at your files, in case I can add any recommendations to help the system stay happy.

Actually the "in place re-install with keeping files and app finished with total crash for me the last time.

I guess after migrating the settings for 3rd time things getting messy :D.

I just resetted my PC and I'll tell you if it has fixed it or not. ATM, it looks like we were successful. :)
