Failed Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3106246)

I have no interest other than resolving your Windows Update issues. Your data/information will be kept secure and only as long as needed to resolve your Windows Update issue. I have itegrity and am simply trying to assist you.

No problem. I use Filezilla as well so if you need assistance I will be able to guide you. I'll PM you login info within 30 minutes.

I put in info (copy & paste) and getting "Connection attempt failed with "EAI_NONAME - Neither nodename nor servname provided, or not known".
Error: Could not connect to server" Also, port is blank.

I see it. I'll monitor it periodically and let you know how far the transfer is. So I'll check tomorrow morning and then we'll be able to extrapolate how long the transfer will take based on our internet speeds.

Thanks.

Sorry for the delay. Please do the following.

Manually Fix
1. Download SFCFix.zip to your desktop. Note: It's critical for the fix that it is saved to your desktop.
2. Right-click on SFCFix.zip and select Extract All...
3. Ensure the "Show extracted files when complete" is checked and click the Extract button.
4. A folder will open and you will see a a file named fix.bat.
5. Right-click on this file and select Run as administrator. Answer Yes to allow when prompted.
6. A black screen will come up for a second or two and the fix will be done.

Please let me know when complete. Thank you.

Ahhh that's why it was taking so long to transfer the data.

Reviewing the logs I see that even a manual fix didn't work which is what I feared. There are only 3 options at this point.

1. Attempt a repair install with Windows 10. So basically install Windows 10 right over the top of what you have which may repair your machine. I can provide instructions for you to try this.
2. Continue the upload of files so I can attempt a diagnosis.
3. Clean install.

Let's go with option 1 first then 2. For me, 3 is not viable. I don't subscribe to the notion that Windows can't be fixed absent some extreme event.. But for this update issue, everything seems fine.

I have the original Win 10 iso and the Win 10 1511 iso both from Techbench. Which one should I use? I presume I can do this from a dvd.

I would try the original first and yes it should work from the DVD. I've always had better luck with USB but it should work. Just don't boot to it. Put the DVD in while you are running your machine and then run the setup from there and perform an upgrade.
