Windows Update Trainee
Windows Update offers to install Windows 11, reboots and says updating computer, stops at like 39% and then boots directly back into windows, running standalone installers either on pen drive or freshly downloaded results in Windows 11 failed to install at 100% just before first reboot, attempts to do in-place upgrade of Windows 10 22H2 result in the same error, same place.
Found that computer would not let secure boot be enabled, would blue screen with INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE, with some investigation found that to be old drivers loaded as a service from some long gone EASUS ToDo backup program, was able to remove it from the registry and from the services, then renamed old sys files. Still has the same issue and a quick review of the CBS log seems to indicate issues with cat and/or mum files but not far along enough in training to understand it yet. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.
