faulty_hardware_corrupted_page BSOD did corrupt my OS

After the restart: explorer.exe is no longer in the crash loop. Back "black screen with mouse visible" is now the state it comes to a few seconds after booting.

The crash loop gone though is way less nerve wracking now :)

Same as before. I get asked for Admin privileges then no window is seen. The task manager shows that different processes seemingly related to the update get active and disappear after some activity. After roughly 5 minutes this ends. I never get any message from the system.

Let's keep fixing then.

Code:
2020-05-09 09:38:05, Error                 CSI    00000007 (F) c000a2a7 [Error,Facility=(system),Code=41639 (0xa2a7)] #45523# from Windows::Rtl::SystemImplementation::DirectFileSystemProvider::SysReadFile(h = 1088 ('\Device\HarddiskVolume6\Windows\WinSxS\amd64_microsoft-windows-mirage_31bf3856ad364e35_10.0.17763.1075_none_01571f68712ae7a7\Windows.Mirage.dll'), evt = 0, apcr = NULL, apcc = NULL, iosb = @0x9b50bfb3e0, data = {l:0 b:}, byteoffset = 0, key = (null))

This is one reported corrupt file. I'll need to trace it to an update.

Please manually upload the components hive by following these instructions:

Upload Components Hive
  1. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\config
  2. Right-click on the current COMPONENTS file and select copy
    Note: If you get an error that the file is in use, reboot your computer and then try again.
  3. Right-click on your Desktop and select paste
  4. Right-click on the COMPONENTS file on your Desktop and select Send To -> Compressed (zipped) Folder
  5. Upload the zip from your Desktop to a file sharing service such as DropBox, OneDrive, SendSpace, etc. and include the link with your reply.

Found out that explorer gets into the crashloop again once i attempt to start it from Taskmanager. I used PowerShell to produce the file, I assume this was the correct command:

Code:
PS C:\WINDOWS\system32\config> Compress-Archive -Path .\COMPONENTS -DestinationPath C:\Users\Tomen\Desktop\COMPONENTS.zip

The result:
COMPONENTS.zip

SFCFix Script

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

  1. Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop.
  2. Download the file below, SFCFix.zip, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFix.zip - do not rename it.
  3. Save any open documents and close all open windows.
  4. On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFix.zip.
  5. Drag the file SFCFix.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
  6. SFCFix will now process the script.
  7. Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
  8. Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this file into your next post for me to analyse please - put [CODE][/CODE] tags around the log to break up the text.

When complete, run DISM again then zip and attach CBS.log when it has finished.

Since I can't use the desktop right now as it is black, I tried the PowerShell in Admin mode:

Code:

PS C:\WINDOWS\system32> cd C:\Users\Tomen\Desktop\
PS C:\Users\Tomen\Desktop> .\SFCFix.exe .\SFCFix.zip

Checking for updates . . .
No new update is available at this time.

ERROR: Zip file is corrupt or unreadable. This may be due to a bad download.
Please re-download the zip file, try again, and see if the problem persists. If it does, let your helper know as it may be that the upload is corrupt, and that is something that only your helper can fix.

Press any key to exit . . .

And the error message:

Hi!

Until zcomputerwiz is back, please do the following:

GSmartControl
Follow the instructions below to check your SMART status with GSmartControl:

  • Download the portable version of GSmartControl and save it on your Desktop;
  • Extract the zip file to your Desktop. Open the folder gsmartcontrol-1.1.3-win64 which should be located on your Desktop and double-click gsmartcontrol.exe to launch the program.
  • Identify your drive in the list (if recognized by the tool), and hover your mouse over it.
  • You should see something called: SMART status. It will either read: Enabled, in which case you should do the following:
  • Double-click on it to bring up its window (usually you'll find your drive by its size or its brand name);
  • Go to the Self-Tests tab, then select Extended Self-test in the Test type drop-down list and click on Execute (this test can take a few hours to complete);
  • Once the test is over, the results will be displayed at the bottom of the window. Please copy and paste these results in your next reply or take a screenshot;
  • Also, go in the Attributes tab and if you have any entries highlighted in red or pink, take a screenshot of the GSmartControl window and attach it in your next reply;
  • Please note: If the SMART Status reads: Unsupported, stop and let me know.
