My Update History shows that my last manual update attempt on 1/3/19 failed.

I just go to Windows Update and click on the Install button. I have Important updates set to install automatically and for Recommended updates I have the box "Give me recommended updates the same way I receive important updates" checked and for the box for Microsoft updates I have the "Give me updates for other Microsoft products when I update Windows" checked also. I have a WiFi internet connection for this pc, so maybe interruptions with my WiFi could be causing the update download problems. I am able to download programs and watch videos with this pc, but there are frequent interruptions with my WiFi connection.
 
I cannot connect to an Ethernet.

The KB number is the same for all of the recent update failures:KB2966828. The updates have failed from at least 12/28-1/7.
 
Last night when I went to shut down my computer it gave me the option to either Update and Shutdown or Update and Restart. I chose to Update and Restart and all four updates updated successfully. None of the updates were KB2966828.

How can I select out updates that I don't want to update?

Maybe my computer is able to update when I am given the option to Update and Restart or Update and Shutdown, so how can I make my computer give me the option to Update and Restart or Update and Shutdown so I don't have to rely on it updating automatically by itself?
 
You would first need to modify the WU settings not to install the updates automatically, but only to download then. This can be done within the WU settings.
 
Under Important Updates I changed from "Update Automatically" to "Download updates but let me choose whether to install them".
Under Recommended Updates I left the box "Give me recommended updates the same way I receive important updates" checked.
Under MS Updates I left "Give me updates for other MS products when I update Windows" checked also.
 
Thanks for the help. I really appreciate it. Hopefully my computer will continue to update when I choose to update manually. If not, I will let you know.
