[SOLVED] Frequent BSODs on YouTube in Windows 8.1 x64

I have not had a blue screen since the first one on this new install and I am waiting to hear a response from Dell.

Called up Dell and they said that there was a recall on the hard drives I have, so they are sending out a tech to replace them with new factory installed OS and drivers to see if the issue still persists.

Interesting! Keep me updated.

Got my new drives installed but will have to wait a bit longer, when I called Dell for some help with some missing software, they insisted the drive they just installed was faulty and needed to be replaced again. I will try to do some testing at the end of the week.

Just got another Blue Screen on a fresh install from OEM disk of windows 8 using Dell technicians to install my drivers and only doing important updates. Here is the dump.

I am having issues finding the right driver that you are directing me to using that site. I can't seem to find it for my drive model, WD7500BPKX.

I have been told in the past there is no actual driver, but it's the firmware update you can download.

Patrick

Pardon me for butting in here, but I'd suggest removing the Western Digital software entirely.
It has no function that you cannot do better with other programs (some of which are freeware) - and it's not needed for the drive to function properly.
i have 6 or 7 W-D USB drives and haven't installed their software on any systems.

What software is it exactly, John? I see it often and I am unsure of the actual name.

Alright, I have an update that might finalize this. I had a computer crash about 1 week ago that made it so it wouldn't post and my entire system locked up. I called Dell and sent it in and they replaced my graphics card and motherboard along with my LCD cable. Hopefully the motherboard was the real cause of the issue and my crashes are hopefully done.

Thanks for the update!

Indeed, I definitely imagined it was an internal video/motherboard related fault. Glad to hear, keep us updated!

Patrick
