[SOLVED] Help with Calculator app not working

Yes, but don't use third party tools to migrate data to the new account, just to be sure you don't copy corrupt files over to your new account.
This might be exceedingly difficult, but 'll try and see if it is possible. I hoped it wouldn't be necessary as I finally finished setting everything up perfectly on this laptop. 😓🥲

What exactly do you mean by the administrator account is limited by the way? I searched the web about it but couldn't find any info corresponding to my situation. They all seemed to talk about how no administrator perms were used for installing apps...

Could this limited administrator permissions have occurred due to changing a local account to a microsoft account? During setup I didn't have access to internet so had to set it up as a local account.

What I mean with ‘limited’ is that you current account does not have full administrator rights. That's why SFCFix failed in the previous thread, so it seems that this account is corrupted for some reason. You should also take into account that you are using an insider build which may contain bugs.

So far as I know is switching back from a MS-account to a local account no problem at all.

Offtopic: It could just be that all administrator accounts on this build might be broken, wonder if there is a way of testing that.

Open the startmenu and type netplwiz, take a screenshot of this window with the account information.

I see the problem here: Should I change it?

It seems in the advanced menu that my account is an administrator user, but the main group it is a part of is Users rather than Administrators.

Yes, you could try to change it, to see if this will resolve the calculator issue? Normally this app should run under standard accounts as well..

Well it didn't change the calculator problem sadly, but maybe I will not have to create a new user :)

I see no other option than create a new user account and migratie all your data manually.

I would start with making a full system image before migrating any data to your new account.

I think I'll just settle with this broken account for now. I genuinely don't remember some things I did to set up my browser in my liking, nor do I remember all the different changes I made to my WSL instance. I'll see if in the future I have time to migrate. Thanks for the help! (Marking as Solved)
